JB Pritzker calls for ‘mass protests’ saying Republicans cannot have ‘moment of peace’ – Washington Examiner

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker recently called for “mass protests” against Republicans, stating that they shoudl not be allowed “a moment of peace.” During a keynote address at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner,Pritzker expressed that he has never before called for such mobilization, emphasizing the necessity to confront Republican actions with both public outcry adn electoral consequences. He criticized certain Democrats for being influenced by political pundits instead of focusing on public needs, accusing them of blaming political losses on the party’s support for marginalized groups rather than their own shortcomings.

Republicans quickly responded to Pritzker’s comments, with Congresswoman Nancy Mace asserting that they find peace in their values and will not go anywhere, while Senator Eric Schmitt invited dissatisfied Republicans to seek solace in Missouri. Donald Trump Jr. also reacted sarcastically, suggesting that Pritzker’s rhetoric might incite violence. Pritzker’s remarks come amid speculation regarding his potential candidacy for the 2028 presidential election, as he has given several high-profile speeches and has yet to announce his intentions regarding reelection as governor.

Gov. JB Pritzker (D-IL) called for “mass protests,” urging Democrats and their allies to act in a way that will not give Republicans “a moment of peace.”

“Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption, but I am now,” Pritzker said while delivering the keynote address at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner on Sunday night.

“These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. They have to understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have. We must castigate them on the soapbox and then punish them at the ballot box.”

Pritzker also lambasted members of his party who have been influenced by political punditry and turned away from the needs of the public, leading them to “admonish” fellow Democrats on podcasts and cable news programs, according to a report.

“Those same do-nothing Democrats want to blame our losses on our defense of Black people, of trans kids, of immigrants, instead of their own lack of guts and gumption,” Pritzker said.

Republicans were quick to respond to the Illinois governor’s call to action.

“Gov. Pritzker wants Republicans to ‘have no peace’?” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) asked in a statement published on X. “We find peace in God, family, and country. And we’re not going anywhere.”

“We welcome the Republican refugees from the Land of Lincoln suffering under the tyranny of the Pritzker regime to the free state of Missouri!” Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) posted.

“Are you trying to inspire a 3rd assassination attempt on my dad?” Donald Trump Jr. asked. “Two wasn’t enough for you?
