Jared Moskowitz declares DOGE caucus ‘dead’ – Washington Examiner
Representative Jared moskowitz (D-FL) has declared the House Department of Government Efficiency Caucus, also known as the DOGE caucus, as “dead” due to lack of activity. Moskowitz, who was the first Democrat to join the caucus, claims it has not operated for months, holding only two meetings in five months and has had no involvement in initiatives spearheaded by Elon Musk. He criticized the caucus as a “complete failure” and noted that no government efficiency improvements have been achieved. Originally, he was led to believe that the caucus would play a critically important role in federal spending cuts. The last public activity reported was a press conference in February, where proposed legislation was mentioned but has not yet been introduced.The caucus’s overarching goal is to complete its objectives by July 4, 2026.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (R-FL) claimed that the House Department of Government Efficiency Caucus hasn’t operated for months.
Moskowitz was the first Democrat to opt into the caucus, cochaired by Reps. Aaron Bean (R-FL), Blake Moore (R-UT), and Pete Sessions (R-TX). However, the Florida Democrat now calls the caucus “a complete failure.”
“The DOGE caucus is dead. It’s defunct. We haven’t met in months. We only had two total meetings in five months. And we weren’t involved at all in anything which Elon [Musk] was in charge of. Zero. Zilch. Nada. [Musk] did it all on his own,” Moskowitz told POLITICO. “DOGE was a complete failure. Complete failure. Nothing has been made more efficient.”
Moskowitz claimed the cochairs initially gave him the impression that Congress would be involved in the DOGE federal spending cuts. In a press release announcing the caucus, Bean described the effort as one that “will lead government efficiency initiatives in the House of Representatives.”
The Washington Examiner reached out to the DOGE caucus and the offices of each cochair for comment.
Members of the DOGE caucus last held a press conference on their efforts in February on a day they named “DOGE day.” Among their announcements were two bills that have yet to be introduced to the House: the “CUTS Act” and the” Drain the Swamp Act. “
The “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is Act” has only been entered into the congressional record by Bean’s House floor speech.

Moskowitz’s criticism follows President Donald Trump’s senior adviser Musk’s pledge to scale back his volunteer effort to DOGE in the coming weeks. Musk reported, “In the grand scheme of things, I think we’ve been effective. Not as effective as I like.”
DOGE is operating on a goal to accomplish all of its work by July 4, 2026.
