Comer urges Hunter Biden’s ex-partner to be honest.

Rep. James Comer Reacts to DOJ’s ‍Request for Sentencing Date

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) recently shared his thoughts on the ⁣Department of Justice’s⁢ letter ⁣requesting a sentencing date‍ for a witness to testify before his committee. In an interview with⁢ Maria ⁣Bartiromo on Fox News’s‌ Sunday Morning Futures, Comer expressed his surprise at the timing‌ of the letter,‍ which was⁤ sent on a Saturday. According to ⁢Comer, it was the first⁣ time he had ever seen the Department of Justice take action on a weekend.

The Importance of Devon Archer’s Testimony in the Hunter Biden Investigation

Comer emphasized the significance ⁣of Devon Archer’s upcoming testimony before the House Oversight Committee. He stated⁣ that Archer had the opportunity to be ‍a hero by telling the truth, just like the whistleblowers and⁢ the judge who rejected the Department of Justice’s plea ⁣deal for Hunter Biden. ⁤Comer expressed his hope that Archer would join the ⁣ranks of Americans who come forward and ‌provide honest testimony.

Archer, who was previously convicted on⁢ two felony⁤ charges related to defrauding a Native American tribe, has ‍managed to avoid prison time through a series of appeals. However, he has missed three previous subpoenas from the Oversight Committee, chaired by Comer.

The investigation surrounding the DOJ’s intervention in Hunter Biden’s legal ⁤case is expected to be further informed by Archer’s testimony. Hunter Biden had initially agreed to a plea deal for⁢ tax-related charges, but it‌ was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika.

Recently, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee had the opportunity to question IRS agents Gary Shapley ‌and Joe Ziegler. Their testimonies revealed allegations of Justice Department officials impeding the IRS’s investigative efforts, including blocking access to Hunter Biden’s ⁤laptop and preventing interviews with him. These ⁣revelations have added to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding the⁢ case.

Hunter Biden has pleaded not‍ guilty ‌to the tax charges he is facing.
