James Carville Melts Down, Calls GOP Voters “Really Stupid” And “Evil” For Voting Against Liz Cheney

Good old James Carville can always be counted to make some newsworthy, if not outlandish, statements. He did not disappoint this week in an interview with The Hill. The recent decimation of Liz Cheney in the Wyoming Republican primary has his temperature boiling. He had a lot to say about what he thinks of Republicans.

He has been critical of his own party on numerous occasions, particularly against the progressive wing. Proving even a broken clock is right twice a day, he said of his more extreme fellow Democrats after the Virginia election last year:

“What went wrong is just stupid wokeness.”

His words for the Republican Party of today were much less measured and flattering. I watched the interview so that you don’t have to, as usual, and below is some of what Mr. Carville had to say about Republican voters.

Republicans Are Stupid, Like Really Stupid

Quoting former Georgia governor and segregationist Democrat Lester Maddox, Mr. Carville broke down what he believes our problem is. He states:

“The problem that the Republican Party has is…Lester Maddox, the former governor of Georgia, said famously, ‘The problem with the prisons in Georgia is the quality of inmate.’ The problem the Republican Party has is they got really stupid people that vote in their primaries. And when you have that, you’re going to get in – really stupid people demand to have really stupid leaders. And that’s where the Republican Party is now.”

I don’t know what I should be more offended by; being compared to prison inmates or being told I’m really stupid. Luckily, liberal elites have been calling me stupid for years, so I’m immune to it.

Still, his statement is quite a bit more extreme this time than it was back in April when he said on MSNBC that:

“By and large, a large part of the Republican Party is just out-and-out weird.”

This comment was spurred by a Tucker Carlson Fox News Digital special where Mr. Carlson allegedly endorsed testicle tanning to increase testosterone. I mean, that is pretty weird, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it.

But to be fair, there are quite a few Democrats who seem to think performing irreversible gender reassignment surgery on children is recommended. So…sounds like, on the weird meter, the Democrats would rank pretty high.

Defining Evil

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly I get labeled as evil, stupid, or insane by liberals. Even members of my own family have had some interesting ways to describe how they view my difference of opinion.

When I think a Democrat is wrong, I think they are wrong. But when a Republican is considered wrong, Democrats choose to view us as evil, stupid, or insane. 

Case in point, Mr. Carville said when comparing the two parties:

“People that believe that the election was stolen and have a right to to storm the Capitol, which is a substantial number of people in the Republican Party, are evil.”

Is evil the appropriate term James? I don’t know. Thanks to my time in uniform, I’ve seen some pretty evil stuff in my day. I’m not sure this ranks in the same category.

Mr. Carville goes on to lament how unfair the media is to the Democrats, stating:

“Huge majorities of the Republican Party don’t believe in evolution. Alright. Huge majorities of the Republican Party followed Donald Trump. But somehow or another, we pay a greater price for 11% of our people than they do for 65% of their people.”

So let’s see how we do when he compares us to the more extreme Democrats in his camp.

Alright?

When comparing our ‘crazies,’ as he says, to his ‘crazies,’ Mr. Carville says:

“There’s, we have our, our people are kind of silly. Their people actually – racism is evil. Alright. Misogyny is evil. I’m sorry. Alright. A pronoun is, to me is – ok, fine. I mean, it’s kind of like, you know, if you want to be a vegan, I don’t care. Eat what you want to eat. All right? But but that’s not, that’s not the same thing.”

Oh boy. So much to take in on that one, James. I don’t speak for all Republicans but what I will say is being a vegan is not the same thing as wanting to choose your gender.

Like the average audience for people seriously using the word “woke” in a 2021 political discussion are James Carville and Fox News pundits so that should tell you all you need to know

I don’t care if you’re a vegan; as I’ve aged a bit, I enjoy an occasional meatless meal from time to time. I also don’t care if you want to be known by a different pronoun.

What I do have a problem with is when you want to penalize me if I don’t instinctively know what you’ve decided to identify with on any given day. What I do have a problem with is when you want to push this concept on my children when I don’t believe in it.

I’m also not a racist just because I don’t think I should have to acknowledge my “white privilege,” which I don’t have. I’m not a racist because I don’t want my children to be told they are natural oppressors in school. And I’m not a racist because I don’t believe in being racist towards white teachers in the name of equity or any other group.

In regards to misogyny, I know all about that from serving 20 years in the United States military. I had countless male bosses who treated me like a secretary, ‘work wife,’ or party planner because they thought that was the extent of my abilities. Were they jackasses and, in general, idiots? Sure. Evil? No. Alright?

A Losing Strategy

I’m not so sure that calling a large swathe of Americans stupid, evil, and racist is a great strategy for winning elections. It didn’t work for Hillary Clinton, but I welcome the Democratic Party to try that old strategy again.

What is fascinating is all this ire from Carville stems from Liz Cheney’s loss. The Ragin’ Cajun said in regards to controversy over Democrats meddling in Republican elections:

“The idea of a political campaign is to win the election. It acts in its own interest.”

As a student of politics, I couldn’t agree more. Additionally, the patriarch of the Cheneys once famously said:

“Principle is OK up to a certain point, but principle doesn’t do any good if you lose.”

Perhaps Landslide Liz should’ve heeded Mr. Carville and her dad’s advice. Either way, this dumb Republican believes in evolution and thinks it might be time for the great James Carville to evolve into retirement. Oh and I definitely DO NOT recommend testicle tanning.
