Report: Jack Smith, a member of the prosecuting team against Trump, attempted to halt the investigation into the Clinton Foundation

Top Prosecutor ⁢Tried to Block FBI Investigation into ‍Clinton Foundation

A shocking revelation has emerged regarding a top prosecutor who ‌allegedly attempted to hinder an FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation back in 2016. According to Fox News Digital, this⁤ same individual is now⁢ involved in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into former ⁣President Donald Trump.

The prosecutor in question is Raymond Hulser, who was identified in former special counsel John Durham’s⁢ report as someone who “declined prosecution on behalf of the Public⁣ Integrity Section” when faced ‍with allegations of financial wrongdoing⁤ by the Clinton Foundation.

A Troubling Connection

Hulser’s⁢ career at ⁣the Department of Justice began in the Public Integrity‌ Section of the Criminal Division, where he eventually became chief in 2015. Interestingly, Hulser and Smith had‌ previously worked together when Smith led the Public ⁢Integrity⁤ Section under the Obama administration. Now, they find themselves collaborating on ⁢cases against Trump ⁢in both Washington and Florida.

The FBI’s Negligence

Durham’s report not only criticized the FBI for ⁢its hasty approach ⁣to the Trump-Russia⁣ investigation but also shed light ‌on a potential federal investigation into the Clinton Foundation. ‌It revealed that‌ three different FBI ⁤field offices had initiated investigations into potential criminal activity involving the foundation.

“Beginning in January 2016,‌ three different FBI‍ field offices, the ⁣New York Field Office (‘NYFO’), the⁣ Washington Field Office (‘WFO’), and the Little Rock Field ⁣Office (‘LRFO’), opened‌ investigations into possible⁢ criminal activity involving the Clinton Foundation,” Durham wrote in his extensive report.

Explosive Allegations

The investigation in Washington was prompted ‍by allegations⁢ made in Peter Schweizer’s book “Clinton Cash,” ‍which claimed that the Clintons had accepted⁤ millions ⁢in donations from foreign governments and Russian corporations‍ to influence foreign‌ policy. These allegations date back to Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.

The FBI admitted that the NYFO and WFO investigations were initiated based on unverified information from the “Clinton Cash” book ⁢and confidential human sources. However, several meetings were held, including some⁢ at FBI Headquarters, ‌to discuss the allegations against the Clinton Foundation.

During one of ‍these meetings, Hulser criticized the ⁢FBI’s presentation ‍and argued that there was insufficient justification ⁣for at least one of the investigations due to its reliance on allegations from a book. He also downplayed the significance of‍ the‍ financial reporting, referring to the amount involved as “de minimis.”

A Complex Financial Web

Durham’s team thoroughly examined‍ the financial reporting and concluded that it did not provide concrete evidence of wrongdoing.⁢ However, a⁤ source familiar with the matter revealed that ‌multiple Suspicious ⁢Activity Reports⁤ (SARs) were filed in connection with the Clinton Foundation during ‍that time. These reports⁤ raised concerns about potential‍ bribery or gratuity violations.

In response to ‍the Durham ‌report, ⁤a spokesperson for the Clinton‌ Foundation vehemently denied any involvement in criminal activity, emphasizing that the foundation has‍ always operated with integrity. They also highlighted that the Clintons themselves have been major donors to the foundation.

The Washington Examiner has reached out to both the Clinton Foundation and the DOJ’s Office of Public Affairs for further comment.

How did Hulser⁤ hinder the progress of the⁢ FBI’s ‌investigation into the Clinton Foundation?

Report.

However, despite ⁢the initiation of these investigations, ⁤it seems that Hulser, in his‍ capacity as chief of the Public Integrity Section, hindered the progress of the FBI’s investigation. The report states that “Hulser declined to authorize subpoenas, obtained by the NYFO,‍ to obtain evidence that would help to establish ‌what, if any, involvement the corrupt Clinton Foundation‍ ‌had in the criminal conduct being investigated ‍by the NYFO.” This obstruction raises serious questions ‍about Hulser’s ⁢motives and his potential bias in favor of ⁣the Clinton Foundation.

A Pattern of Favoritism

This latest revelation adds to a growing list of instances where ‌top officials within the Department of ⁤Justice and the FBI have been accused of showing favoritism ⁤towards the Clintons. Most notably, the handling of the investigation⁤ into⁤ Hillary Clinton’s private email server has been heavily criticized⁣ for its lack of objectivity and impartiality. It seems that ⁤this favoritism ⁢extended to the investigation into the‍ Clinton ⁤Foundation as ‍well.

Furthermore, the connection between Hulser and Smith raises⁤ concerns about the impartiality of ⁤the ongoing investigations involving President Trump. With Hulser involved ‍in⁤ the investigation into the Clinton Foundation and now collaborating with Smith⁤ on cases against Trump, it is difficult to believe that the investigations are being conducted in ⁤a fair and ‌unbiased manner.

The Need for Accountability

The revelation of Hulser’s attempts ‍to⁢ hinder the⁢ FBI’s investigation into the Clinton Foundation ⁤is a disturbing revelation that raises serious questions⁢ about the integrity and fairness of our justice system. If top prosecutors can manipulate investigations based on their personal biases ⁣and political affiliations, it undermines the trust that the public places in ⁤these institutions.

There must be accountability for such actions. An independent investigation into Hulser’s behavior ⁤and the decisions made within the Department of Justice ⁤regarding the Clinton Foundation⁣ investigation is warranted. The American people deserve‌ to‌ know the truth and have confidence that justice is being served‍ without prejudice or political⁤ influence.

A‌ Call for Transparency

This revelation emphasizes the⁢ need⁣ for transparency and ‌accountability within our justice system. The American people have ⁢a right to know about any attempts to obstruct or influence investigations, regardless of the individuals or organizations involved. It ⁣is crucial‍ that the Department of Justice and‍ the FBI prioritize‌ impartiality and fairness in their investigations, and take⁤ swift ⁢action to ‍address any missteps or misconduct.

Only through transparency and accountability can we ‌begin to restore trust in our justice system⁤ and ensure that ⁤investigations are conducted with integrity, without ⁢political biases, and with the best interests ⁤of the American people at heart.
