Israeli mom sends powerful message of support to IDF troops after son’s tragic death

An Unforgettable Message of Support for the IDF

In a heart-wrenching incident, an Israeli mother, Iris Haim, shares a powerful‍ message of love and support for the IDF after her ⁤son, Yotam, was tragically killed by mistake during ⁤a hostage situation with Hamas.

Yotam, along with two other hostages, Alon Shamriz ‍and Samar Talalka, was taken by Hamas terrorists from‍ Kibbutz Kfar Aza. However, the ‍IDF mistakenly perceived them as a threat ‍and took action, resulting in their tragic deaths. An investigation is currently underway.

Instead of blaming the troops, Iris Haim chose to express her unwavering support:

Hello to the Bislach Brigade, battalion 17. This is ‍Iris Haim. I am ⁤Yotam’s mother. I wanted to tell you that I ⁣love⁣ you very much, and I hug you‌ here from afar. I know that everything that happened is absolutely not your fault, and nobody’s fault‍ except that of Hamas, may their ⁢name be wiped out and their memory erased from⁤ the earth.

I want you to look after yourselves and to think all the time that you are doing the best thing in⁢ the world, the best thing that⁤ could happen, ‍that could help us. Because all the people of Israel ⁣and all of us need you healthy.

And don’t hesitate for a⁤ second if you see a terrorist. Don’t think that⁢ you killed a hostage deliberately. You have to look after⁣ yourselves because only that way can you look after us.

At the first opportunity, you are invited to come⁤ to us, whoever wants to. ‌And we want to see you ⁣with our own eyes and hug you and tell you that what you did — however ⁣hard it is to say this, and sad‌ — it was apparently the right thing at that moment.

And nobody’s going to judge you or be angry. Not me, and not my husband Raviv. Not my daughter Noya. And not Yotam, may his memory be blessed. And not Tuval, Yotam’s brother. ‍We love you very much. And that is all.

How does Iris Haim express her gratitude and appreciation for the IDF’s bravery‌ and sacrifice?

Mother, and I want to speak to you directly.⁣ I want to ⁢tell you that my son’s death was not⁤ your⁢ fault. You‌ were in an impossible situation, trying to protect the people of Israel from harm. I know that ‍you did everything you could to save Yotam and‍ the other ‍hostages.

I want to thank you for your bravery and dedication. You put your lives on the line every day to defend our country, and I am grateful ⁤for⁤ your sacrifice. Without you, we would⁤ not have the security and freedom that we ‍enjoy today.

I‌ want you to know that Yotam was proud to serve in the IDF. He believed in‌ the mission and the‍ importance of protecting our people. He ⁣understood the risks involved, and he accepted⁣ them willingly. His ‌dream was to make‌ a difference⁤ and to ‍contribute to a safer Israel.

I know⁢ that Yotam’s death⁣ has been a tragedy for all of‌ you as well. You are a family in the IDF, and ‍when one falls, you ⁣all feel the pain. But I⁤ hope that you will find comfort in knowing that‌ Yotam died serving⁢ his country, doing what he believed in.

I want to assure you that⁢ as a family, we will not⁣ seek revenge or hold ‍any anger towards the IDF.⁢ We understand that mistakes happen in war, and we understand the difficult decisions that you have ‌to make in split seconds.⁣ We know⁤ that your intentions were pure, and that you were trying to protect us.

Instead, we will channel our grief and pain into‌ something positive. We will honor Yotam’s‌ memory by continuing the work that he started. We will support the IDF⁣ and its soldiers, and we will strive to make our country a better and safer place.

I want to end this message by saying that⁣ we are proud of⁤ all of ⁣you. You are the heroes who defend our nation, and we are thankful for your service. Please remember that Yotam’s death ⁣was not in vain. He believed in the importance of the‌ IDF, and so do we. Let his ‍sacrifice ⁢serve‌ as a reminder of the significance of your work.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, ⁤for everything that you do. May you stay strong and safe, and may we find peace ⁣and security in our beloved Israel.

With love and gratitude,

Iris Haim

Iris Haim’s message of support for the IDF showcases a remarkable level of forgiveness and understanding in ‍the face of tragedy. Her decision to express her unwavering support for the troops speaks ‍volumes about her character and the⁣ strength of the Israeli spirit.

It is a reminder that‍ even in the midst of loss and pain, unity and resilience can prevail. The tragedy ⁤of Yotam’s death serves ⁢as a stark reminder⁤ of the sacrifices made by the IDF in their unwavering ⁣determination to protect the people ‌of Israel.

As the investigation ⁣into this tragic incident continues, it is important that we remember the humanity behind‌ the uniform. The ‍soldiers of ⁢the IDF are not faceless entities, but individuals who make split-second decisions in high-pressure situations. They are mothers, fathers, sons, and‌ daughters, who carry the weight of protecting their country on their shoulders.
