Israel to award Charlie Kirk for fighting antisemitism
Israel will posthumously honor Charlie Kirk at the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed to the Associated Press. The award is described as a second posthumous honor for Kirk, who was shot and killed four months earlier. Last May Kirk sent Netanyahu a seven-page letter warning of rising anti-Israel and antisemitic trends online and calling for a “communications intervention,” a message Netanyahu later acknowledged and praised publicly. Netanyahu has also dismissed and called “insane” claims that Israel was involved in Kirk’s killing. Utah prosecutors have charged 22-year-old Tyler Robinson with seven felonies in the shooting and plan to seek the death penalty; Robinson’s next court date is in May. The ceremony follows Israel’s second conference on antisemitism, which last year was boycotted by Anti-defamation league CEO Jonathan Greenblatt.
Israel to award Charlie Kirk for fighting antisemitism
Charlie Kirk will receive a second posthumous award in the coming weeks, this time from Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed to the Associated Press that Kirk will be honored at the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism. This honor comes four months after Kirk was shot and killed.
This event marks Israel’s second conference on antisemitism. Last year’s conference was boycotted by Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt.
Last May, Kirk wrote Netanyahu a seven-page letter expressing concern about prevalent “anti-Israel and anti-Semitic trends” hitting “record levels on social media.”
“Anti-Israel sentiment can undermine American support for Israel,” Kirk wrote. “Everything written here is from a place of deep love for Israel and the Jewish people. I think it’s important to be brutally honest with those you love. In my opinion, Israel is losing the information war and needs a ‘communications intervention.’”
Netanyahu publicly confirmed he received the letter after Kirk was killed in September.
Since Kirk’s assassination, Netanyahu dismissed rumors that Israel was involved. According to the prime minister, the allegations were “insane,” “false,” and “outrageous.”

“Charlie Kirk was a giant. A once-in-a-century talent who defended freedom, defended America, defended our common Judeo-Christian civilization,” Netanyahu wrote on X at the time.
Utah prosecutors have charged Kirk’s suspected assassin, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, with seven felony charges and plan to seek the death penalty. Robinson is next due in court in May.
