President Donald Trump is inching closer to delivering on his 20-point proposal to end the war in Gaza, as he announced on Saturday that Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line to facilitate a hostage release.
Trump detailed Israel’s cooperation in a post on Truth Social, saying it has been shared with Hamas.
“After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas,” the U.S. president posted.
“When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE,” he added. “Thank you for your attention to this matter and, STAY TUNED!”
Trump’s post included a photo illustrating where the initial withdrawal line would be in relation to major cities like Rafah and Gaza City, as well as the Palestinian refugee camp Bureij.
If agreed to, Israeli forces will withdraw all troops to this line, and all military operations including aerial and artillery bombardment will be suspended.
Trump has given Hamas a deadline of 6 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday to agree to the deal.
The initial withdrawal line is just one part of the Trump administration’s 20-point proposal to end the conflict, which starts with declaring Gaza a “deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.”

If Hamas fails to agree to the terms, the president warned “all HELL” would break out.
On Saturday morning, Trump again insisted that he wishes for Hamas to make a decision quickly, or “all bets will be off.”
“I will not tolerate delay, which many think will happen, or any outcome where Gaza poses a threat again,” he said. “Let’s get this done, FAST. Everyone will be treated fairly!”
