GOP raises new alarms on Biden’s risky border policies as illegals caught with terrorism-tailored explosives.
Republican Senators Warn Biden’s Border Policies Put Homeland at Risk
Four Republican senators have issued a stark warning, stating that President Joe Biden’s current border policies demonstrate a lack of willingness to protect the homeland. Sens. John Barrasso, John Cornyn, Ted Cruz, and Pete Ricketts held a press conference after visiting the southern border, where they emphasized the urgent need to address illegal immigration.
Ricketts expressed concern that the lack of border security leaves the United States vulnerable to a potential terrorist attack. Barrasso highlighted the alarming fact that some immigrants apprehended at the border were found to be in possession of explosive devices specifically designed for terrorism, as reported by Fox News.
Cornyn acknowledged the importance of trade with Mexico for the economy but criticized President Biden for outsourcing immigration policy to criminal organizations. He expressed concern that U.S. Customs and Border Protection lacks sufficient knowledge about the individuals crossing the border, including those who manage to evade capture.
According to Cornyn, there have been over a million and a half individuals detected on cameras and sensors who have successfully evaded Border Patrol. He suggested that many of these “gotaways” may be involved in smuggling illegal drugs like fentanyl.
However, Cornyn expressed even greater concern about the potential for radicalized terrorists to enter the country illegally through the southern border. He cited the recent attack in Israel as a reminder of the threat posed by terrorist organizations and questioned the Biden administration’s ability to track and apprehend such individuals.
Cruz added that Border Patrol agents are frustrated with the Biden administration’s policies, which result in the release of illegal immigrants after agents have risked their lives to detain them. Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn also highlighted the issue, revealing that 18 individuals on the terrorist watchlist were stopped from crossing into the United States illegally.
Potential terrorists are attempting to cross our southern border.
In September alone, 18 illegal immigrants on the terror watchlist were caught at the border.
The attack on Israel should serve as a warning as to why we must secure the border.

Blackburn emphasized the need to secure the border, drawing attention to the recent attack in Israel as a cautionary example. However, Politifact noted that the threats faced by the United States differ significantly from those faced by Israel. According to immigration expert David Bier, the vast majority of individuals crossing the border are seeking economic opportunities and freedom, rather than intending to commit acts of terrorism or seize control of the country.

The senators emphasized the need to prioritize national security and protect the American people from potential threats. They called on President Biden to take immediate action to secure the southern border and develop a comprehensive strategy to address illegal immigration and its associated challenges.
In response to the senators’ concerns, the Biden administration defended its border policies, stating that they prioritize treating immigrants with dignity while also ensuring public safety. The administration highlighted its efforts to expedite processing and remove individuals who do not qualify for asylum or other forms of protection.
The administration also emphasized its commitment to working with international partners to address the root causes of migration and promote safe and orderly migration. The administration believes that addressing the push factors that drive individuals to migrate will help reduce illegal immigration and improve border security.
While the administration acknowledges the need for border security, it also stresses the importance of addressing the underlying issues that drive migration. This includes supporting economic development in countries of origin, promoting good governance, and providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations.
However, the Republican senators argue that the current approach is inadequate and poses a significant risk to national security. They urge President Biden to prioritize the safety and security of the American people by implementing stronger border policies, increasing border patrol and surveillance resources, and ensuring that law enforcement agencies have the necessary tools and support to address illegal immigration and potential threats.
The issue of border security and illegal immigration is a contentious and complex one, with no easy solutions. It requires a comprehensive approach that balances the need for border protection with respect for human rights and international obligations.
As the debate continues, it is crucial for policymakers on both sides of the aisle to work together to find common ground and develop strategies that address the root causes of migration, enhance border security, and protect the homeland. The safety and well-being of the American people should be the top priority in any immigration policy decisions.
