‘I Take My Job Very Seriously’: Khloe Kardashian Discusses Life With Baby Number 2

Khloe Kardashian recently welcomed a second child via a surrogate, and now she’s speaking up about life as a single mom to two young kids.

The 38-year-old reality star talked with ELLE Magazine about making the transition from one to two kids. “I know it’s cliché, but I love everything, even the hard parts,” Kardashian said of parenting four-year-old daughter True and her infant son. 

She made headlines for deciding to have a second child with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson. The pair had reunited briefly but broke up in January of this year. Their son was born in August.

Kardashian said the kids “challenge me as a person” and that “being able to shape little people into really incredible big people is an honor and a gift.”

“We have to take those roles seriously, especially in today’s day and age, with how much accessibility children have and the information they’re exposed to so young. It’s super scary, but I take my job very seriously. I love it so much,” the Good American brand founder told ELLE.

Kardashian shared how her daughter has already developed her personal sense of style, saying, “she’s a pink girl, through and through.” 

“Now that I’m a mom and have a daughter, I want her to see every version of herself, her friends, and her cousins — I want everyone to feel validated,” the reality star explained. 

She’s also been much more guarded since the baby was born and still hasn’t shared photos publicly or revealed the child’s name. Kardashian’s rep said she “is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing.”

In November, Kardashian spoke with Cosmopolitan UK about her feelings about becoming a parent. “I definitely have more empathy. And the motivation that having a child gives you… you want them to be proud of you so badly,” she said. 

“That’s not just work, but my manners and how I treat people. You just carry yourself in a different way, or I try to. Three is the best age,” she continued, talking about daughter True.

While she’s been a lot more private about her home life, some aspects will be revealed on the Hulu reality show “The Kardashians.” The season two trailer teases that it will reveal Khloe’s journey to becoming a “mom of two” and her experience with the media obsession over Thompson cheating on her.

“Going through what I went through was incredibly hard,” Khloe says in the trailer. “I just feel that I’m a fish in a fishbowl.”
