Hunter Biden says he almost confronted Obama for viral moment

Hunter Biden expressed strong anger toward former President Barack Obama for leading then-President joe Biden offstage during a 2024 fundraiser event, fearing that the moment would become a viral meme and negatively impact public perception. Hunter recounted his frustration in an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, featured in Karl’s upcoming book *Retribution: Donald Trump and the Campaign That Changed America*.He admitted he “almost jumped on the stage” to confront Obama, emphasizing how much the incident upset him. The fundraiser in Hollywood raised a record $28 million for Joe Biden’s reelection campaign but occurred shortly before Biden’s poor performance in a later debate, which contributed to his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race. The book, detailing various campaign insights, is set for release on October 28.

Hunter Biden says he almost ‘jumped on the stage’ to confront Obama for leading father offstage

Hunter Biden was furious with former President Barack Obama when he led then-President Joe Biden off the stage at a 2024 fundraiser, saying he “knew that that was going to be a meme.”

Hunter Biden recounted his fury over the incident to ABC’s Johnathan Karl in one of their interviews for the book, fully titled Retribution: Donald Trump and the Campaign That Changed America.

Karl revealed that Hunter’s reaction to the viral moment was that of a son extremely frustrated with how the public would perceive the image of Obama helping out Joe Biden, a then-presidential candidate whose age was already under the microscope.

“I almost jumped up on the stage and said, ‘Don’t ever f***ing do that to the president of the United States again. Ever,” Hunter Biden said to Karl.

“I knew that that was going to be a meme,” Hunter Biden said. “That really, really, really, really pissed me off.”

The June 2024 fundraiser held in Hollywood raised $28 million for Joe Biden’s reelection campaign. The record-breaking fundraiser came just over a week before the then-president’s infamous debate performance, which was part of the catalyst for his ultimate withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race and the face-off between former Vice President Kamala Harris and President Donald Trump.

JOSH SHAPIRO TO RELEASE MEMOIR IN JANUARY

Karl’s book is the latest of several high-profile accounts that have come out in recent weeks detailing the ins and outs of the campaign. Harris released her memoir about the campaign, 107 Days, in September, in which she described Joe Biden’s decision to run for reelection as an act of “recklessness.”

Karl’s book is set to be released Oct. 28
