Hunter Biden’s Attorney Responds to Whistleblower Testimony
In a recent development, Hunter Biden’s attorney, Chris Clark, has addressed the explosive whistleblower testimony that alleges his client threatened a Chinese official for payment. The testimony, released by Congressional Republicans, includes a WhatsApp text message where Hunter Biden mentions using his father’s influence.
While not disputing the authenticity of the text message, Clark argues that any statements made by Hunter Biden should be seen as a consequence of his “horrible addiction” and should not be linked to his father in any way.
“As his attorney through this entire matter, I can say that any suggestion the investigation was not thorough, or cut corners, or cut my client any slack, is preposterous and deeply irresponsible,” Clark stated.
Clark further explains that the Department of Justice’s investigation covered a period of turmoil and addiction for Hunter Biden, emphasizing that his actions were solely his own and not influenced by his family.
“The DOJ investigation covered a period which was a time of turmoil and addiction for my client,” Clark continued. “Any verifiable words or actions of my client, in the midst of a horrible addiction, are solely his own and have no connection to anyone in his family.”
Clark concludes by condemning the release of the texts, claiming it is both “illegal” and “irresponsible.” He argues that the fact that they were made public by Republicans raises suspicions about their authenticity and motives.
“Biased and politically-motivated, selective leaks have plagued this matter for years. They are not only irresponsible, they are illegal,” Clark stated. “A close examination of the document released publicly yesterday by a very biased individual raises serious questions over whether it is what he claims it to be. It is dangerously misleading to make any conclusions or inferences based on this document.”
