Hunter Biden refuses Congressional subpoena, accuses Republicans of undermining his recovery efforts

After snubbing a formal subpoena from House lawmakers Wednesday, President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, gave a press conference that was nothing short of cringe-worthy.
Standing in front of the Capitol, Hunter claimed that House Republicans had belittled his recovery and tried to dehumanize him, all in an effort to embarrass his father. He defiantly declared, “Here’s my answer to ‘Where’s Hunter?’ I am here.”
But Hunter’s demand for a public hearing instead of a closed-door deposition goes against House protocol and would give him special treatment not afforded to Donald Trump Jr. during the Russian agent investigation. House Republicans have made it clear that they will not grant him special privileges.
On the other hand, House Democrats have not hesitated to levy contempt charges against those who refuse to participate in their Jan. 6 witch hunt investigation.
Despite federal prosecutors unveiling new tax-related charges against Hunter Biden, he boldly stated, “My father was not financially involved in my business.” However, this contradicts reports of President Biden’s interactions with his son’s clients and the Biden family’s substantial earnings from foreign oligarchs.

House Republican Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio pointed out the significant change in Hunter Biden’s phrasing, emphasizing the importance of questioning him. Jordan said, “First, it was no involvement. Then no one ever, never talked to anyone, and then we find out about the dinners, the meetings, the phone calls, everything else. Now, it’s okay, he wasn’t involved in the business financially.”
During his campaign, Joe Biden repeatedly distanced himself from his son’s business ventures. However, Hunter’s public testimony contradicts these claims and raises further questions about the Biden family’s involvement.
House Republicans are now considering a presidential impeachment inquiry to investigate Biden family influence peddling. According to Politico, most Republicans are in favor of formalizing the proceedings, with only one holdout.
