Ramaswamy suggests Hunter Biden’s business dealings are probably connected to US stance on Ukraine.

Republican Candidate Suggests Ukraine‌ War Linked to⁢ Alleged Bribery

Republican presidential⁢ candidate Vivek Ramaswamy made a⁢ bold statement on Saturday, suggesting that the United States’ involvement in⁤ the war in Ukraine may ‍be ⁣connected to allegations of bribery ‌involving President ⁢Joe Biden’s son. Speaking at a campaign ⁤event ‍in Council Bluffs, Ramaswamy addressed a crowd ⁤of around 60 Iowans, emphasizing the importance of the U.S. military in protecting ⁤American interests and the homeland.

“The purpose of the U.S. military [is] to advance American ⁢interests, to protect the homeland. Not to aimlessly fight‌ some⁣ random war that’s arguably a repayment for a private bribe that a family member of the United States received, $5 million from Burisma.”

Possible Link to Hunter‍ Biden’s Ukraine Dealings

Ramaswamy ‌went on to suggest that there‌ may be‌ a connection between Hunter Biden’s past‍ business⁢ dealings ⁢in Ukraine and the current military crisis involving Russia.

“Was the payment to ⁣Hunter Biden corrupt? Absolutely it was. Do I think that ⁢it has some relationship towards our posture toward Ukraine? I think it’s likely that it does.”

The presidential candidate’s⁤ mention of the $5 million payment echoes ‌accusations made by Republican lawmakers, including James Comer (R-KY), who has accused the Biden family of ⁣accepting bribery payments related to Hunter Biden’s foreign business ventures.

Recently, Hunter Biden reached⁣ a⁢ deal with the Justice Department after a 5-year investigation, agreeing to plead guilty to tax evasion ⁣counts and a ⁢felony gun charge. However, the deal was put on‌ hold last month as a Delaware federal ‍judge questioned‌ its scope, ⁣while House Republicans continue their investigation into the ⁢Biden ‍family.

During a closed-door session with members of ⁣Congress, Hunter Biden’s former business partner,‌ Devon ‌Archer, ⁢testified that there were business meetings where Joe⁣ Biden would participate via phone, but business matters were never directly discussed. Archer described how‍ Hunter Biden‍ would leverage the ⁢”illusion” of his father’s power to ‍make deals, admitting ⁤that this ⁤was ‍a ⁤”soft abuse of power” in his opinion. He also stated that he was not aware of any foreign policy decisions related to Ukraine being influenced by Hunter Biden’s‌ business activities.

As the allegations and investigations‍ continue, the connection between ⁤Hunter Biden’s past dealings and the ongoing military crisis⁣ in⁣ Ukraine remains a topic of debate and speculation.
