Hunter Biden‘s lawyers filed a motion for a new trial in the first son’s gun case in Delaware on Monday but quickly had the filing deleted.
Biden was found guilty of three counts related to a 2018 gun purchase in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware last week. The motion for a new trial initially filed had claimed the court had a lack of jurisdiction over the three counts he was convicted of, but shortly after the motion was filed, it was deleted, and a note in the docket acknowledged the action.
“The Motion for a New Trial (formerly DI 233) has been deleted at the request of counsel,” the docket entry said.
Biden lawyer Abbe Lowell said after the conviction in federal court last week that Biden and the legal team were “disappointed by today’s verdict” and would “continue to vigorously pursue all the legal challenges available.”
The first son was found guilty on charges of lying on a federal form about his drug use to purchase a revolver, submitting a false statement into a federal record, and unlawfully possessing the firearm for 11 days.
