The Democratic-led House of Representatives has been in session for 8 days since April 1, which represents just 25% of the weekdays between April 1 and May 9.

House members are scheduled to return to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, May 10.

This means House lawmakers were on Capitol Hill in-session since April 1 for just 8 out of 32 weekdays, Monday through Friday. Congress is typically not in session on weekends.

The House is scheduled to be in session for 172 days out of the year and 166 of those days are defined as “legislative days.”
