Family members of the hostages held by Hamas since October 7, 2023, attack sent President Donald Trump a video message thanking him for brokering a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel. The agreement includes a commitment to return the hostages who have been held in captivity for over two years. 

The “Hostages and Missing Families Forum” posted a statement to its X account announcing the deal. The group also expressed its “profound gratitude” to Trump and his administration for their leadership in bringing “an end to the war and a comprehensive agreement to return all the hostages.”

“The Hostages Families Forum welcomes the signing of this agreement, designed to bring all the hostages home — the living for rehabilitation with their families, and the deceased for proper burial in their homeland,” read the statement. “This represents important and meaningful progress toward bringing everyone home, but our struggle is not over and will not end until the last hostage returns.”

“The hostage families wish to express their profound gratitude to President Trump and his team for the leadership and determination that led to this historic breakthrough: an end to the war and a comprehensive agreement to return all the hostages,” noted the statement.

Trump announced that the remaining hostages in Gaza were expected to be released as early as Monday

“The hostages are going to be released — our time would be probably Monday. They’re in a terrible situation there,” Trump said to Sean Hannity in an interview on Wednesday night.

“As we speak, so much is happening to get the hostages freed,” Trump added. “We think they’ll all be coming back on Monday, and that’ll include the bodies of the dead.”

The video from the Hostages and Missing Families Forum was posted to Trump’s Truth Social account on Wednesday evening, with the group praising the president for facilitating the return of the hostages.

“We are the families of hostages,” a man from the group said in the video message. “We came here to Washington, DC, this week to mark the October 7 attack against our people when our loved ones were captured by Hamas terrorists.”

We will not stop fighting until we see the last of the 48 return to their family, those who were murdered in captivity, buried in the Land of Israel, those who are still alive, walking through the border and reuniting with their families. Thank you, President Trump, for your courage. Thank you to the Trump administration for doing everything you can to bring them home.”
