America’s population of working-age immigrants has plummeted by at least 2 million since President Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office, an epic decline compared to the massive surge during his predecessor’s term.
Under President Joe Biden, the population of foreigners aged 16 and over jumped more than 7 million, including legal and illegal migrants.
But under Trump’s closed-border agenda, that group declined about 2.1 million from January to July, according to newly released Bureau of Labor Statistics data.
In a quick analysis of the data released today, the numbers include a substantial decrease in illegal immigrants.
The Washington-based Center for Immigration Studies said in its new report, “The Center’s analysis of prior months’ raw data showed a huge decline in the foreign-born from January through July, including a 1.6 million falloff in illegal immigrants. The limited information available for September indicates that the decline has continued to some extent.”
The highlights from the CIS review:
– The September Current Population Survey data show an additional 101,000 falloff in the 16-and-older foreign-born population since July. This follows a decline of 1.9 million from January to July.
