‘He Can’t Walk On All The Water All The Time’: Whoopi References Jesus To Defend Biden’s Absence At The Border
“The View” host Whoopi Goldberg referenced Jesus to defend President Joe Biden’s decision to not visit the border during a segment of Wednesday’s broadcast, complaining that all the good things Biden did were never enough for the people who just wanted to criticize him.
Goldberg made the comparison during a conversation about the president’s recent visit to Arizona and the subsequent complaints that he had failed to make an appearance at the U.S.-Mexico border — even as illegal border crossings continue to break records and don’t appear to be slowing down.

Goldberg began with a clip of Biden telling a reporter — who asked why he wasn’t going to visit the actual border while in Arizona — that there were “more important things” going on than the unchecked influx of illegal immigrants.
Arguing that Republicans should just be happy that Biden was in the state to promote American jobs, Goldberg claimed that they “miss the point.”

Joy Behar says Biden should have gone to the border “just to shut [critics] up.”

“Did the economy matter or not?” Sara Haines asked.
“It did matter, and we would have found out about what you just said AND he could have gone to the border just to shut them up,” Joy Behar said.
Griffin agreed, saying that even though it likely would have been just a photo op, it would have shown that Biden was not being dismissive of an issue that a lot of Americans were concerned about.
Co-host Sunny Hostin complained that it would have been “theater,” saying she didn’t need to see him at the border as long as he was working on more important things — but Behar pushed back and pointed out that sometimes just the optics were as important as anything that got accomplished.
“He could have gone,” Goldberg interrupted, clearly getting impatient with the direction of the conversation and directly comparing Biden to Jesus. “He can’t walk on all the water all the time.”
Haines rounded out the conversation by suggesting that if Biden had gone to the border, his critics would have just found some other question to shout at him and complain about later.
