Four Killed, Several Injured in Hamas Terror Attack in Jerusalem
Tragedy struck in Jerusalem on Thursday morning when Hamas terrorists opened fire at a bus stop, resulting in the deaths of four people, including a young pregnant woman. At least six others were wounded in the attack, which took place despite Hamas’ promise to adhere to a temporary ceasefire.
According to The Times of Israel, the incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. local time when two Palestinian gunmen emerged from a vehicle near a main entrance to the city and began shooting at innocent bystanders. However, their rampage was swiftly halted by two off-duty soldiers and an armed civilian who returned fire, ultimately killing the terrorists at the scene. The Shin Bet security agency revealed that the attackers were brothers and members of Hamas, previously imprisoned for their involvement in terrorist activities.
Surveillance footage captured the chilling moment when the Hamas members unleashed their assault on the unsuspecting crowd. Within seconds, brave individuals confronted the terrorists, engaging in a firefight that ended their reign of terror. The police discovered an M-16 rifle, a handgun, and a significant amount of ammunition in the brothers’ vehicle.
The victims of this horrific attack include Livia Dickman, a 24-year-old pregnant woman, Ashdod rabbinical judge Elimelech Wasserman, 73, and Hannah Ifergan, a woman in her 60s. Two others were in serious condition, three in moderate condition, and one in good condition, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and commended the swift actions of those who neutralized the terrorists. In a statement, he said, “The government headed by me will continue expanding the distribution of weapons to citizens. This is a measure that proves itself time and time again in the war against murderous terrorism.”
Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack, hailing the terrorists as “jihad-waging martyrs.” The older brother had been imprisoned from 2010 to 2020 for planning attacks in coordination with Gaza-based terrorist groups, while the younger brother was jailed in 2014 for undisclosed terror activity. Following the bus stop shooting, Israeli police arrested six members of the terrorists’ family, including their parents, during a raid on their home.
