Grimes shares talk with Elon Musk on trans matters: He’s not pleased with the woke crowd.
Canadian singer Grimes, who was romantically involved with Elon Musk, said she once had a conversation with him about his stance on transgender issues.
The 35-year-old performer recently discussed the conversation during an interview with Wired.

“I don’t want to talk about this too much,” she said when the interviewer asked if she was “disturbed” by some of Musk’s tweets. “But take the trans thing. After that, we had a big, long conversation. I was like, ‘I want to dissect why you’re so stressed about this.’ Getting to the heart of what Elon says helps me get to the heart of what other people’s issues are.”
The singer described it as “this über guy situation.”
“And it came down to pretty much every way that you transition can cause fertility issues. I was like, OK, you don’t hate trans people, you hate woke culture. I get that it can be annoying, and you have concerns about the fertility thing. So let’s figure it out, because there’s a lot of fertility tech that could be innovated that would help trans people have kids, which would be great and would solve a lot of problems. He’s just on Twitter, and he’s unhappy with woke people, and the arguments happened,” Grimes added.
When asked if she was “a woke person,” Grimes replied, “Probably not. I don’t know what the term means. I think we need to change the discourse.”
Co-Parenting and Learning from Elon Musk
The Canadian singer also discussed co-parenting two children with the Tesla founder. The former romantic partners have two children: daughter Exa Dark Sideræl Musk and son X Æ A-12. Musk has a transgender-identifying child from another relationship.
Grimes said she “learned” from Musk and described her relationship with him as “the best internship ever.” She said, “people don’t like talking about Elon, but it was incredible to be right there watching all that SpaceX stuff happen. That’s a master class in leadership and engineering and makes you understand how rare it is to have a leader of that quality.”
She also professed to teach Musk “to have more fun” as she attempted “to soften him up” and “to build family culture” along with their two kids.
