Grifter Alyssa Farah Says She Put Cassidy Hutchinson in Touch With Liz Cheney

A former staffer under the Trump administration said she put Cassidy Hutchinson in touch with the House committee investigating Jan. 6 and encouraged her to testify.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former White House director of strategic communications and friend of Hutchinson, said she connected her to Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) “a couple months ago” and that Hutchinson spoke to the committee behind closed doors prior to her in-person testimony on Tuesday.

“She did her interview [and] she complied with the committee, but she shared with me, ‘There is more I want to share that was not asked in those settings. How do we do this?'” she said during an appearance on CNN. “And in that process, she got a new attorney of her own. Congresswoman Cheney had a sense of what questions needed to be asked that weren’t previously. So that’s how this shocking testimony that people didn’t realize before kind of came about.”

Hutchinson, who was an aide to former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows, said in her appearance in front of the committee she heard that former President Donald Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of his vehicle and lunged at the head of his security detail when he was told he could not join supporters at the Capitol on Jan. 6. She learned of the situation from Tony Ornato, Trump’s deputy chief of staff, and Robert Engel, the special agent in charge for the Secret Service on Jan. 6, 2021, she told lawmakers earlier this week.

Trump dismissed Hutchinson’s testimony before the committee as “crazy,” saying during a Thursday appearance on Newsmax she is “living in fantasy land.” Several Trump alumni have also pushed back against her testimony, though others have spoken in support of her statements.

A source close to Ornato denied that he told Hutchinson that Trump tried to commandeer the steering wheel and subsequently attempted to reach for Engel’s throat, Fox News reported. Engel has also denied the claim, according to CNN.
