Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds (Iowa) has denied Joe Biden’s requests to give Iowans $100 vaccine incentives. On Friday, a spokesperson for Reynolds said the governor had no plans in making the offer.

This comes after Biden urged states and local governments use federal funds to encourage citizens in stopping the virus’s spread. The CDC reported nearly 50 percent of the Hawkeye State’s population has been fully vaccinated.

As several states have already offered incentive programs, including Ohio and Colorado, officials say Iowa’s strategy has not changed from its current “education and communications efforts.”
