Republican Senator Urges Closure of Building Named After Nancy Pelosi
Republican U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst is demanding the government to take action and shut down San Francisco’s main federal office building, which was recently renamed after ex-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. According to the New York Post, Ernst believes that the Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building poses a significant threat to public safety.
Ernst’s call to close the building comes after numerous warnings from building staff and department heads, urging government employees to work from home and avoid the area due to the dangerous conditions surrounding the facility. Reports in August revealed that the Department of Health and Human Services had advised employees to stay away from the building for their own safety.
Expressing her concerns, Ernst stated, “Working at a Department of Health and Human Services building shouldn’t put your health or life at risk, but that is the reality now in San Francisco. It’s time to shut down the Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building and ensure the safety of federal employees.”
The building, which houses Pelosi’s local office as well as offices of Health and Human Services, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Transportation, has become a symbol of the deteriorating conditions in San Francisco. The city has been plagued by rampant drug use, homelessness, rising crime rates, and unsanitary conditions.
In a letter to the administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration, Ernst described the downtown area as “dangerous” and highlighted the prevalence of drug-related activities and violence near the building. She emphasized the need to relocate employees to other government office locations where they can work without fearing for their safety.
Ernst also criticized the decision to rename the building after Pelosi, calling it ironic that a structure meant to represent an ideal workplace has become a symbol of government dysfunction. She stressed the urgency of addressing the crime problem in San Francisco, as it not only endangers federal employees but also puts the lives of children and visitors at risk.
As San Francisco continues to deteriorate under the leadership of left-leaning politicians, Ernst’s call for action highlights the need for immediate solutions to restore safety and security in the city.
A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:
I walked into the office one morning and noticed something strange. Half of The Western Journal’s readership was missing.
It had finally happened. Facebook had flipped THE switch.
Maybe it was because we wrote about ivermectin. Or election integrity. Or the Jan. 6 detainees. Or ballot mules.
Whatever the reason, I immediately knew what to do. We had to turn to you because, frankly, we know you are the only ones we can trust.
Can you help? Every donation to The Western Journal goes directly to funding our team of story researchers, writers and editors who doggedly pursue the truth and expose the corrupt elites.
Can I count on you for a small donation? We operate on a shoestring compared to other news media companies, so I can personally promise that not a penny of your donation will be wasted.
We will use every single cent to fight against the lies and corruption in high places. And as long as we have your help, we will never give up.
Sincerely,
Josh Manning
