GOP Rep Retires, Sparks Outrage on the Left
Sometimes, a Republican Congressman’s Departure from Congress Sparks Celebration
Tuesday on X, Republican Rep. Bill Johnson of Ohio made a surprising announcement. He revealed that he has accepted an offer to become the next president of Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio.
Unsurprisingly, this news caused a meltdown among authoritarian leftists.
“As I’ve stated previously, I wasn’t looking for another job because I love the one I have serving the people of Eastern Ohio in the U.S. House. This was an extremely difficult decision,” Johnson wrote in a lengthy post.
After much thought and prayerful deliberation, I have accepted the offer to lead Youngstown State University and will not be seeking an 8th term in Congress. As I’ve stated previously, I wasn’t looking for another job because I love the one I have serving the people of Eastern…

Since 2011, Johnson has represented Ohio’s 6th congressional district. In 2022, he won with 67.7 percent of the vote, defeating his Democratic opponent.
While many Republicans in Congress have let down their voters, Johnson has consistently taken principled action on important issues.
For example, he recently voted against allocating $300 million for a new FBI headquarters, a decision that stood out because 70 Republicans joined Democrats in supporting the FBI.
Johnson has also fought for election integrity following the controversial 2020 election. In a statement on January 5, 2021, he announced his support for objecting to the certification of the Electoral College vote in Pennsylvania and potentially other states, citing potential violations of the U.S. Constitution and state election laws, as well as failure to count all legal ballots.
Therefore, we wish the Ohio congressman the best of luck. Whether he realizes it or not, he will soon face significant challenges.
In our lives, we have encountered reasonable liberals who share our desire for freedom and prosperity, even if we differ on the means to achieve them.
However, authoritarian leftists have no interest in freedom or prosperity, except for themselves. Their main goal is to express their resentment by causing harm. They rely on jargon and slogans to dehumanize their political opponents, often labeling them as “election deniers.”
In response to Johnson’s announcement, these authoritarian leftists focused on his objections to the 2020 election.
“You must hear the footsteps of Jack Smith. You aren’t getting away with trying to overthrow our country,” one vengeful X user posted.

“Adios. We’ll see you again when Jack Smith calls your name. You can run but you can’t hide. Vote blue Ohio,” another vengeful user wrote.

“You tried to overthrow democracy. When the history of this era is written, you’ll be recorded as a traitor. Good riddance to trash,” added another angry and delusional leftist.

“You should be expelled, Seditionist. Any university that chooses an election denier as its leader is not worth attending. Education is about truth, not rewriting history. Hopefully, the DOJ will deal with all the traitors soon enough,” wrote another delusional and likely bloodthirsty leftist.

Others who objected to Johnson’s appointment seemed slightly less unhinged, as they refrained from endorsing political persecution.
“I’m sad to see this. You are massively underqualified for this position, and your political beliefs are repugnant. This YSU grad is extremely disappointed with @youngstownstate,” one user stated.

Therefore, Johnson will face significant challenges as the president of YSU. He will likely encounter organized protests, possibly even large ones.
If conservatives want to save their country, they must confront the challenges of higher education, even if it means wading into a reeking cesspool. And they must do so fearlessly.
Let us pray that Johnson will have the strength to withstand the hatred and make a positive impact in his role as university president.

What principled actions has Johnson taken during his time in Congress that have made him stand out among other Republicans?

On Tuesday, Republican Rep. Bill Johnson of Ohio announced that he has accepted an offer to become the next president of Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. This surprising news has caused a meltdown among authoritarian leftists.
In a lengthy post, Johnson wrote, “As I’ve stated previously, I wasn’t looking for another job because I love the one I have serving the people of Eastern Ohio in the U.S. House. This was an extremely difficult decision.”
Johnson has been representing Ohio’s 6th congressional district since 2011, winning reelection in 2022 with 67.7 percent of the vote. Unlike many Republicans in Congress who have let down their voters, Johnson has consistently taken principled action on important issues.
For example, he recently voted against allocating $300 million for a new FBI headquarters, a decision that stood out because 70 Republicans joined Democrats in supporting the FBI. Johnson has also fought for election integrity following the controversial 2020 election, supporting objections to the certification of the Electoral College vote in Pennsylvania and potentially other states.
Therefore, we wish the Ohio congressman the best of luck. Whether he realizes it or not, he will soon face significant challenges.
Unfortunately, there are authoritarian leftists who have no interest in freedom or prosperity, except for themselves. These individuals focus on causing harm and rely on dehumanizing their political opponents with jargon and slogans, often labeling them as “election deniers.”
In response to Johnson’s announcement, these authoritarian leftists focused on his objections to the 2020 election. They made comments like, “You must hear the footsteps of Jack Smith. You aren’t getting away with trying to overthrow our country,” and “Adios. We’ll see you again when Jack Smith calls your name. You can run but you can’t hide. Vote blue Ohio.”
Such rhetoric is not only misguided but also dangerous. It is important to remember that reasonable liberals can exist, who may differ on the means to achieve freedom and prosperity but share the same goals. However, authoritarian leftists are solely motivated by their resentment and desire to cause harm.
It is unfortunate that these individuals resort to name-calling and threats instead of engaging in rational discourse. Comments like “You tried to overthrow democracy. When the history of this era is written, you’ll be recorded as a traitor. Good riddance to trash,” and “You should be expelled, Seditionist. Any university that chooses an election denier as its leader is not worth attending. Education is about truth, not rewriting history. Hopefully, the DOJ will deal with all the traitors soon enough,” are not only baseless but also contribute to the toxic political climate.
Fortunately, there are some who objected to Johnson’s appointment in a more composed manner, refraining from endorsing political persecution. They expressed disappointment with his appointment and his political beliefs but did not resort to personal attacks or threats.
In conclusion, the departure of Republican Congressman Bill Johnson from Congress has sparked celebration among authoritarian leftists who lack the ability to engage in civil discourse. It is disheartening to see individuals resort to name-calling and threats instead of expressing their disagreements in a respectful manner. As Johnson embarks on a new role as president of Youngstown State University, we wish him the best of luck in facing the significant challenges ahead.
