Ellerup⁣ was seen smiling and nodding at the suspect, from whom she filed for divorce with on July 19th.

During the 30-minute hearing,‍ defense attorney Michael Brown requested⁤ all‍ of the investigators’ notes, prompting the prosecution to point out that they had already turned over approximately 75% of⁢ those materials, along with paperwork ‍for all related warrants, and 14,000 photographs.

Heuermann⁤ and Ellerup were said to have separated in recent months, however, Brown told reporters that Ellerup had visited her soon-to-be ex-husband in⁢ prison just last week.

“He‍ indicated he was very happy to see her,” Brown ⁤said.⁤ “My understanding is she doesn’t believe he was⁤ capable or‍ committed ‌these acts.”

Ellerup’s attorney Robert Macedonio added that: “if this⁤ happened, Rex was living a complete double life. Nobody would like to believe their spouse is⁣ capable of any of these  heinous crimes.”

Ellerup‍ made her⁤ court appearance just one day after Heuermann filed paperwork to make her ‌the sole owner of their Massapequa Park house.

According to officials, Heuermann has also had another ⁢unnamed visitor who has visited twice since his arrest.

The alleged assailant has been charged with three counts of murder in connection to the deaths of ‌Melissa Barthelemy, ⁣24, Megan Waterman, 22, and Amber Lynn Costello, 27.

Heuermann pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Prosecutors⁤ have previously said that he is also a prime ‍suspect in the disappearance of a⁤ fourth woman, 25-year-old Maureen Brainard-Barnes, who disappeared back in 2007.

⁣ What‍ significance does Asa Ellerup’s participation in the documentary on the case hold in relation to the complexities surrounding the Gilgo beach murders?

Harges in July.‍ The Gilgo beach murders, also known as‌ the Long Island Serial Killer case, have been a high-profile investigation spanning over a decade.

Rex Heuermann, the accused killer in this case, ‌made an appearance in‍ court on Wednesday. This court appearance was significant as it was the ‍first time his estranged wife, Asa Ellerup, attended the hearing. The presence ⁣of Ellerup ‍at the proceedings drew attention, especially because a documentary on the case is currently being filmed.

It was reported that ⁤Ellerup had made a deal with a major streaming service to participate in the documentary. This added another layer of intrigue to the already complex case. The estranged wife arriving at the court hearing garnered attention from the‍ media and on social media platforms.

During the 30-minute hearing, defense attorney Michael Brown requested all of the investigators’ notes from the prosecution. The prosecution clarified ⁣that they had already turned over approximately 75% of the requested materials, along with related warrants and thousands of photographs. This exchange between the defense and prosecution highlighted the extensive evidence and investigation that has been⁢ conducted in this case.

In recent months, Heuermann and Ellerup had separated, but it was revealed that Ellerup had visited her soon-to-be ex-husband in prison just last week. Brown, Heuermann’s defense⁢ attorney, indicated that Heuermann was‍ happy to see‍ Ellerup during her visit. He also stated that ‌Ellerup does not believe Heuermann is capable of the crimes he is being accused of committing.

Ellerup’s attorney, Robert Macedonio, added that if Heuermann is guilty, it would mean he ⁣was leading a‌ double life. Macedonio emphasized that nobody would want to believe⁣ their spouse ‍is capable of such heinous crimes.

It is worth noting that Heuermann recently filed paperwork to ⁣transfer the ownership of their house in Massapequa Park solely to Ellerup.⁢ This legal move indicates a⁤ possible change in their relationship dynamic and adds another layer of complexity to⁢ the case.

Additionally, it was ‌revealed that Heuermann has had another visitor, whose identity has not⁢ been⁢ disclosed, visiting him twice‌ since his arrest. The nature of these visits and the relationship of this visitor to Heuermann are unclear at this point.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges when he was arrested in July. The Gilgo beach murders have remained an unsolved and deeply ⁣concerning case, and the court proceedings continue to shed light on the complexities surrounding it.
