Georgia Gov. Declares State of Emergency Over Supply Chain Crisis

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) declared a state of Emergency on Thursday in response to a continuing supply chain crisis. 

He wrote in an executive order that despite success in fighting COVID-19, Georgia’s supply chain has not recovered fully, CBS 46 noted. 

The 5-page executive order allows for a temporary suspension of federal rules on the number of hours a commercial trucker may drive. 

The directive also attempts to encourage more people to become commercial drivers.
