Fox News host Will Cain stops show for prayer and moment of silence after Charlie Kirk shot
Conservative commentator Will Cain observed a moment of silence on his Fox News show after a gunman shot and killed Charlie Kirk on Wednesday.
He said the communications director at Turning Point USA, a conservative organization that he was the executive director of, asked his team to sit in a moment of silence.
“We are going to pause and offer our prayer. We hope you join along,” he said before pausing to bow his head for about 10 seconds.
“However and to whomever you pray, I hope in this moment you can pray for Charlie Kirk,” he added.
Cain’s prayer came before it was confirmed that Kirk died of his wounds after being shot while speaking at a Utah Valley University event. The suspect is still on the loose.
The Fox News personality wrote on social media to grieve Kirk’s death.
“I can’t believe I just had to announce on live TV the death of a friend. I can’t believe this is where we are in America. Charlie was a man of God. A Christian. A Patriot. A family man. A husband and father. And a really good man,” he said.
“It says something real that the only rebuttal to stop Charlie was violence. But it won’t stop Charlie. Because it won’t stop us. You just lifted up Charlie,” he concluded.

Many others, Democrats and Republicans, also grieved Kirk’s death. Most called for a cooling of political divisions and condemned political violence.
A moment of silence was also called during a New York Yankees-Detroit Tigers baseball game on Wednesday evening.
