GOP candidates gather at Fourth of July parades, as Trump shares explicit ‘F*** Biden’ meme.

Republican 2024 Hopefuls Hit the Campaign Trail

Today, the campaign trail is buzzing with activity as most Republican 2024 hopefuls embark on their journeys to win over voters. However, one candidate decided to kickstart the day with some online taunting.

Former Vice President Mike Pence is set to make his presence felt in Iowa, while Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) plans to participate in two separate parades in New Hampshire. Joining DeSantis on stage in the Granite State will be Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), Governor Doug Burgum (R-ND), and other notable figures. Interestingly, Donald Trump will not be actively campaigning, but he did manage to find time for social media.

Let Independence Day Mean Independent Thought, Not Groupthink

In the early hours of the morning, Trump shared several memes, including one featuring a “F*** Biden” flag. However, he later posted a more traditional Independence Day message, wishing everyone a Happy Fourth of July. He emphasized the importance of hard work, reclaiming the country, and making America great again, highlighting the upcoming 2024 election as a crucial opportunity.

According to the New York Times, Trump will not be actively campaigning on the Fourth of July. Instead, his team points to weekend stops in Pennsylvania and South Carolina as evidence of his dedication to the cause. Trump also has plans to visit Iowa later in the week.

For Iowans looking to engage with political figures on Independence Day, there will be two opportunities to see Pence. He will be appearing in both Urbandale and Boone. Meanwhile, attendees at the Merrimack parade in New Hampshire will have the chance to witness a multitude of candidates without even having to leave their seats. DeSantis, Scott, Burgum, Will Hurd, Vivek Ramaswamy, Perry Johnson, and even Democratic long shot and self-help guru Marianne Williamson will all be present.

President Joe Biden, on the other hand, will not be participating in parades. Instead, he will be hosting active-duty military personnel for a White House barbecue before enjoying fireworks on the South Lawn with his guests. Additionally, Biden has a campaign event scheduled—a meeting with the National Education Association, a prominent teachers union, right next door to the executive mansion.

Trump’s unconventional approach to campaigning on July 4th may be a reflection of his strong position in the polls. He currently holds an average of 52.4% support, according to the RealClearPolitics average, which gives him a clear majority when combined with all his rivals. DeSantis trails far behind in second place with 21.5% support.

Biden, on the other hand, maintains a clear lead over his Democratic opponents, Williamson and political scion Robert F. Kennedy Jr. However, his approval rating stands at just 42.5%.
