Former Media Matters Senior Fellow Eric Boehlert Dies at 56
JOURNALIST and well-known media critic Eric Boehlert has died after being involved in a bicycle accident as fellow writers pay tribute to the author.
Mr. Boehlert tragically passed away on Monday night after being struck by a train in Montclair, New Jersey, the author’s wife, Jane, confirmed to The US Sun.
A “fierce defender of journalism,” Mr. Boehlert was a renowned media critic, writer and founder of Press Run.
Jane described her husband as the “kindest, elegant, generous and one of the coolest guys you will ever meet.”
Prior to his work at Press Run, Boehlert was a senior fellow at Media Matters for America for 10 years and a staff writer for Salon for five years.
Before that, he wrote about the music industry as a contributing editor to Rolling Stone and as a staff writer at Billboard.
