All recipients‌ of⁤ the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in the Old​ Dominion will‌ be thrilled to know that their ​benefits for August‌ will be arriving within the next six days.

The food stamp program in Virginia is‍ dedicated to ensuring that beneficiaries receive​ their payments promptly. From the 1st through the 7th of each month, the program distributes benefits to recipients’ Virginia EBT cards. And‌ here’s the⁤ best part – benefits ​are issued ⁢in three exciting waves!

Wave Schedule:

  • Wave 1 (Aug. 1): Recipients with case numbers ending in 0-3
  • Wave 2 (Aug. 4): Recipients with⁣ case numbers ending in‍ 4-5
  • Wave 3 (Aug. 7): Recipients with case numbers ending in 6-9

SNAP benefits in the Old Dominion can ​be used to purchase a wide range ⁢of food ‌items, including seeds and food-producing plants. However, ‍it’s important ‌to ⁤note that certain items⁢ are ineligible for SNAP benefits. These include nonfood items, alcohol, tobacco, medicines, gardening ⁢items, cleaning or paper⁣ products, pet food, and prepared hot foods.

To qualify ‌for SNAP in Virginia, the income ‍limits are as follows: a one-person household must not exceed $2,265 per month, while a household ⁣of five must have a⁢ maximum monthly ‍income of $5,412.
