About 14% of the Pennsylvania population, which is approximately 1.84 million people, receive SNAP benefits. On average, each household member receives $182 per month.
Here’s a breakdown of the maximum SNAP benefits for different household sizes:
- Household of one: $23 – $281

How to Use Your SNAP Benefits
Your food stamps will be loaded onto an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card, which functions like a debit card. You can use this card at participating grocery stores, farmers markets, and select online retailers.
Almost all food items and fresh produce can be purchased with SNAP benefits, except for prepared foods. You can also use the benefits to buy seeds and plants for growing your own food at home. If you are homeless or unable to cook, some participating restaurants in the state accept SNAP payments. Additionally, certain Meals on Wheels kitchens also welcome food stamps.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to provide nutritious meals for yourself and your family. Start using your SNAP benefits today!
