Residents in four states can expect their September SNAP payment to arrive in just nine days.

Four ⁣States to Send Out ‌SNAP Payments to ‍Eligible Households

Get ready,‍ because⁣ in just nine days, four states will ⁢be‍ distributing payments from the Supplemental Nutrition‌ Assistance Program​ (SNAP) to every ‌eligible household. While most states spread out their‌ food stamp distributions throughout the‍ month, Alaska, ⁣North Dakota, Rhode ​Island, and Vermont‍ have chosen to send out all of their direct SNAP payments on the 1st of the month.

Alaska

Alaska, known as⁢ the Last Frontier State, has a unique system for determining the maximum monthly payment for‍ SNAP-participating households. The state is divided into⁤ three regions: Rural I, Rural II, and Urban. ‌In the Rural I region, households⁢ of one can receive up​ to ⁤$293, while⁣ households⁤ of four can receive up to $979. For those living in the Urban region, the ‌maximum payment for a household of one is ​$230. In total, approximately 12% of Alaska’s population, or 92,100 people, receive food stamps, ⁤with an average payment of $271 per household member‌ per ⁣month.

North Dakota

In⁤ North Dakota, ⁢the ⁢maximum payment for SNAP households is $281 for ⁢a household of one, $939 for a household‍ of ⁤four, and $1,691 for‍ a household of eight. The state has 47,400 SNAP benefit recipients, making up 6% of‌ the population.​ The average​ payment per household⁣ member per month is $185.

Rhode Island

Rhode‍ Island also has ⁢a maximum⁢ SNAP payment of​ $281 for a household of‌ one, $939 for a household​ of four, and $1,691 for a household of ⁢eight. ‌Additional household ⁢members receive an extra $211. Approximately 13% of ‍Rhode Island’s ​population, or 139,400 people, receive food stamps, ‍with an average payment of $183 ‌per household member⁢ per month.

Vermont

In Vermont, 11% of the population, or 69,500 people, are ‍eligible for SNAP benefits.⁣ The ⁢average payment per household member per month is​ $188. The⁢ maximum‍ payment amounts are $281 for a⁢ household of one, $939 for a household of four, and $1,339 for a household ⁢of six. An additional $211 is added for⁢ each member‍ after six.
