The Trump management has begun deportation flights of illegal immigrants from a temporary detention site in the Florida Everglades, nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz,” as announced by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. This facility was established on short notice in early July to help manage the increasing number of immigrant detentions amid overcrowded existing ICE facilities. According to DeSantis, the Department of Homeland Security has already conducted several flights, removing hundreds of undocumented immigrants. The operation aims to increase the pace of deportations from the state as part of broader immigration enforcement efforts.
