The FBI offered a $50,000 reward on Monday for any information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect responsible for the fatal mass shooting in Stockton, California, over the holiday weekend.
The shooting left four people dead and 11 others wounded, according to police. The deceased victims were ages 8, 9, 14, and 21. The number of wounded people was initially 10.
The attack disrupted a toddler’s birthday party in a banquet hall before 6 p.m. local time Saturday. Gunfire started as attendees gathered around the birthday cake.
Local authorities revealed there may have been multiple shooters. No suspects have been identified since the shooting.
The FBI Sacramento Field Office is leading the investigation into the incident with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
“Investigators are requesting any information that will lead to the identification and arrest of the person(s) involved to include information about any vehicles, weapons, or planning activity connected to this attack,” the FBI said in a statement.
Officials, including Stockton Mayor Christina Fugazi, said the shooting was gang-related. However, the sheriff’s office could not confirm whether that claim was true as the investigation is in its early stages.
San Joaquin County Sheriff Patrick Withrow said his office is confident the shooting was not random, though.

“These animals walked in and shot children at a children’s birthday party,” he said. “They walked into this area and were probably looking for somebody in particular. Why they did that, what they are part of, who they are, we don’t know.”
In addition to the FBI, the sheriff’s office is asking anyone in the local community to come forward with information or video footage they may have related to the incident.
