Exclusive: ICE Removes Violent Illegal Immigrants From Chicago
The article discusses recent efforts by U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to apprehend violent criminal illegal immigrants, highlighting a specific operation called Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago. Despite facing criticism and negative coverage from liberal politicians and some media outlets, ICE agents continue to focus on protecting communities by arresting risky offenders, including pedophiles, drug traffickers, burglars, and gang members. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin condemns what she describes as false media narratives that demonize ICE and claims assaults on ICE officers have dramatically increased amid this antagonistic habitat. The article lists several individuals recently arrested by ICE, sharing their criminal histories, and emphasizes cooperation with other federal agencies in ongoing operations. It also rebuts claims that ICE raids schools, engages in racial profiling, or arrests firefighters, asserting that the agency’s priority is targeting the “worst of the worst” to enhance public safety.
As Immigration Customs and Enforcement agents go up against some of the most violent criminals on the planet, liberal politicians and their allies in corporate media continue their campaign to villainize the law enforcers.
Is it any wonder that assaults on ICE officers have surged this year compared to the open-border days of President Joe Biden?
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin tells The Federalist that Monday’s ICE arrests, including via the new Operation Midway Blitz targeting criminal illegal immigrants in Chicago, nabbed pedophiles, drug traffickers, burglars and other violent aliens. ICE agents, she said are doing their jobs to protect communities across America despite a barrage of hatred and false reporting from the left and its allies in the propaganda press.
“The media’s vile smears demonizing ICE is leading to our officers facing a 1000% increase in assaults against them as they carry out enforcement operations to make America safe again,” McLaughlin said in a release on the “worst of the worst” offenders taken into custody Monday. The report was exclusively provided to The Federalist.
The list of suspects include:
Tania Merlo-Mendoza, a 30-year-old criminal illegal alien from Honduras. Merlo-Mendoza has been convicted on charges of aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon, according to DHS. She was arrested on allegations of home invasion, traffic offenses, simple battery, violation of protection orders, crime against nature, and prostitution in Jefferson Parish, La.
Reynaldo Morales-Valenzuela. The 61-year-old sexual predator from Mexico was nabbed by ICE Houston. DHS says he’s been convicted of indecency with a child (sexual contact) in Bexar County, Texas, and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Jonathan Venegas-Garcia, a 26-year-old criminal alien from Mexico. ICE Atlanta arrested Venegas-Garcia, who DHS says has been convicted of assault inflicting serious bodily injury in Iredell County, N.C. He was sentenced to 15 to 27 months in prison.
Jose Puga-Saldivar, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico. DHS says he was convicted on charges of selling cocaine in Santa Ana, Calif.
Alejandro Acevedo, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico. DHS says he was convicted on burglary charges in New Castle County, Delaware.
Fox News on Monday reported that ICE agents in Chicago took into custody a 43-year-old illegal immigrant. The Mexican national was “convicted last year of forcibly sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13,” yet out on the streets.
DHS officials said ICE in the Chicago operation also arrested Gabriel J Valle Galvez, a 47-year-old criminal illegal alien from Mexico, with convictions for battery, aggravated assault, DUI, trespassing, criminal damage to property, public indecency, violation of order of protection, and multiple assaults. Valle Galvez, according to DHS has been identified as a Latin King gang member.
ICE asserts it lodged arrest detainers 12 separate times, but Cook County Jail did not honor the detainer and released him.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Marshals Service are assisting in the Chicago operation, which is expected to continue for weeks, Fox News reported.
“While the media perpetuates FALSE narratives about ICE raiding schools, engaging in racial profiling and arresting firefighters, ICE law enforcement officers are risking their lives to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens,” McLaughlin said.
