Ex-Obama aides fire back at Hunter Biden’s ‘sense of entitlement’

The hosts of the podcast *Pod Save America*, including former Obama aides Tommy Vietor and Jon Favreau, responded critically to Hunter Biden’s recent interview, describing it as frustrating and marked by a “sense of entitlement.” Hunter Biden had accused various Democrats and claimed figures like George Clooney pressured his father, Joe Biden, to drop out of the presidential race. Vietor acknowledged Hunter’s anger but said the three-hour interview largely portrayed him as playing the victim. He also criticized Hunter’s position on the board of Burisma as a prime example of Washington nepotism and dismissed Hunter’s claim that Joe Biden’s debate performance was impaired by Ambien, suggesting rather that age was more likely the factor. Favreau emphasized that Joe Biden’s initial decision not to drop out was influenced by a narrow circle of advisors, despite widespread concerns about his age. Both commentators urged that politicians need to listen more closely to voters instead of isolating themselves. Additional commentary from the *Washington Examiner* suggested that Hunter Biden’s interview was a deliberate attempt to defend the family’s reputation, but that it may have harmed their public image and the Democratic Party.

Ex-Obama aides fire back at Hunter Biden’s ‘sense of entitlement’

The hosts of Pod Save America pushed back against Hunter Biden‘s accusations against a myriad of Democrats, calling his interview “very f***ing grating.”

On Monday, Biden criticized the hosts during a three-hour interview, saying “vultures” such as George Clooney and others pressured his father, former President Joe Biden, to drop out. Co-host Tommy Vietor, who was a spokesman for former President Barack Obama, said Monday he understood why the former first son was “mad,” but the interview came off as “three hours of Hunter playing the victim.”

“You were on the board of Burisma because of who your dad is, and that is what people hate about Washington, and it was part of the problem,” Vietor said Monday on the podcast.

“And like, there’s some other weird s*** like, he blames the debate on Biden’s staff saying they gave him Ambien on his foreign trip. But like, Biden got back from the G7 on June 14, the debate was June 27. If Ambien was the issue … I don’t think it’s Ambien, it’s age, right?” Vietor said.

Vietor criticized Hunter Biden and his family for their “sense of entitlement” in believing Joe Biden was “owed the presidency.”

Co-host Jon Favreau, a former chief speechwriter for Obama, said it’s “no wonder” that Joe Biden did not initially drop out since he only spoke to his son, former first lady Jill Biden, and adviser Mike Donilon. Favreau said multiple polls showed “everyone” believed the former president was too old to continue leading the country.

Favreau said he hopes Democrats learn that a candidate cannot “have a bubble” of only a few people and ignore criticism. He also said candidates need to “listen to the f***ing voters.”

TEN TAKEAWAYS FROM HUNTER BIDEN MEDIA BLITZ: DRUG USE, LAPTOP SCANDAL, JOE BIDEN’S DROPOUT

On Tuesday, the Washington Examiner‘s Salena Zito said it appeared Hunter Biden was “very intentional” in rebuking multiple Democrats, since the Biden family feels it is “entitled” to feeling “vindicated.” However, she also said the family is unaware of the “damage” it is doing to its reputation and the Democratic Party as a whole.

The Washington Examiner‘s Joe Concha was similarly critical of Hunter Biden’s interview, saying the claim that Joe Biden was on Ambien during the presidential debate reaches “a whole new stratosphere of sanctimony.”
