Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk criticized a judge’s sentencing of two teenagers who attacked Edward “Big Balls” Coristine,a former staffer at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),which Musk previously led. The attack occurred in Washington, D.C., when Coristine was mugged by eight teenagers in August.The two teenagers, both 15 years old, pleaded guilty to simple assault and received probation sentences-12 months for the boy and 9 months for the girl-avoiding jail time. Musk denounced the verdict as racially biased, asserting that if the races were reversed, the offenders would have been incarcerated. His PAC America echoed this sentiment on social media. The sentencing also prompted Senator Jim Banks (R-IN) to push for legislative reforms aimed at toughening youth prosecution laws in D.C., aiming to ensure harsher penalties for violent offenders. The presiding judge, Kendra Briggs, was appointed by President Joe Biden and has a background as an assistant U.S. attorney for D.C.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk blasted the judge responsible for sentencing the teenagers who attacked a former Department of Government Efficiency staffer.
Musk led DOGE, where Edward “Big Balls” Coristine was among the original staffers. Coristine was mugged by eight teenagers in Washington, D.C., in August.
Two of the teenagers, a boy and a girl, both 15 years old, were arrested and agreed to a plea deal. District of Columbia Superior Court Associate Judge Kendra Briggs sentenced the boy to 12 months’ probation and the female to 9 months’ probation for pleading guilty to simple assault. Since they are under 18 years old, their names have not been provided publicly.
“This was a racist verdict by a racist judge,” Musk wrote on X on Wednesday. “The simple test to apply is if the races has been reversed, the White kids would be in prison. Equal justice for all!”
Musk’s PAC America also posted about the sentencing on X.
“The attackers who were arrested in the violent attempted carjacking of DOGE staffer Edward Coristine will avoid jail and instead be sentenced to probation,” the PAC wrote.
Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) cited the sentencing as a reason to pass his bill to overhaul youth prosecution in Washington, D.C. The bill has cleared the House, but has yet to pass in the Senate.

“This is crazy. My DC CRIMES Act would stop nonsense like this in our nation’s capital and make sure violent criminals face real consequences,” Banks wrote on X.
Briggs was appointed to the Superior Court by former President Joe Biden. Previously, she worked as the assistant U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C.
