Israel launches operation in Jenin, resulting in the deaths of eight Palestinians.

Israeli Attacks in Jenin Leave Eight Palestinians Dead

On Monday, Israel carried out a series of air and ground attacks in Jenin, resulting in the deaths of at least eight Palestinians. The Israel Defense Forces launched ten air attacks on the Palestinian militant stronghold, with four victims sustaining fatal injuries to their chest and head, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Escalating Violence and Critical Injuries

Reports indicate that around two dozen other Palestinians were injured in the attacks, some of whom are in critical condition. The operation involved approximately 150 armored vehicles and 1,000 soldiers from various elite special forces, military, intelligence, police, and border police units, as confirmed by Al Jazeera’s Jerusalem bureau chief.

The Palestinian Authority Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks, emphasizing that they targeted defenseless civilians. Residents who were injured in the attacks corroborated this claim, as reported by a Qatari-based news outlet.

The foreign ministry urgently called for international and American intervention to halt the aggression immediately. Additionally, they urged the International Criminal Court to take action against the Israeli war criminals responsible for these acts.

Israel has justified its actions by claiming the presence of terrorist organizations in Jenin, which allegedly pose a threat to regional stability and security. However, Palestinians argue that Israel is escalating the conflict and seeking revenge against those who resist oppression.

Both sides of the debate have criticized the United States for its perceived inaction. Some believe that the U.S. should condemn Israel more strongly as violence continues to escalate in the West Bank, resulting in the deaths of numerous Palestinians. Conversely, others argue that the U.S. should provide greater support to Israel, one of its most crucial allies, especially when Palestinian militants retaliate.
