Chris Christie predicts Donald Trump may be on bail in four states before the first RNC debate.
2024 Presidential Candidate Chris Christie Criticizes Trump’s Legal Troubles
In an engaging and fiery statement, 2024 presidential candidate Chris Christie expressed his doubts about former President Donald Trump’s ability to participate in the Republican National Committee’s first primary debate. Christie suggested that Trump could potentially be “out on bail” for multiple legal cases in the weeks leading up to the debate.
“Look, he’s not even clearing that bar,” Christie emphasized during an interview on CNN’s State of the Union with Kasie Hunt. ”It is most likely that by the time we get on the debate stage on August 23, the front-runner will be out on bail in four different jurisdictions: Florida, Washington, Georgia, and New York.”
Christie further dismissed Trump’s recent call for GOP lawmakers to adopt a “lower-class” approach in their fight against Democrats. At a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, Trump referred to Democrats as “dirty, sick players” and labeled Republicans as “very high class.” However, Christie firmly disagreed with this characterization.
“Out on bail, Casey. That doesn’t even clear the low-class bar that Donald Trump is advocating for,” Christie retorted.
Trump currently faces two indictments, one on state charges in Manhattan and another on federal charges in Florida related to his handling of classified documents. Additionally, there is a possibility of an indictment in Washington, D.C., for his alleged involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, as well as potential charges from a Georgia special grand jury investigation into his attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
While Trump focuses on his legal battles, Christie highlighted the importance of addressing significant issues in the United States. As a presidential candidate, Christie aims to promote parental school choice and tackle inflation, contrasting with Trump’s self-centered approach.
“He’s sitting there at a rally for two hours last night talking about his own problems. This is a guy who’s putting himself before the country. You can’t put America first with Donald Trump because it’s Trump First,” Christie passionately stated.
Trump recently spoke about his legal challenges at a rally, just two days after special counsel Jack Smith added three charges to the existing 40-count indictment for classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago. Trump has denied allegations of ordering the deletion of security footage from his estate, which led to one of the obstruction of justice charges.
