99% of recent COVID-related deaths do not cite the virus as the main cause.
New Data Suggests Majority of Reported COVID Deaths May Be Attributed to Other Causes
Recently released data has revealed a surprising trend in COVID death reporting by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). According to the data, a staggering 99% of the new COVID deaths reported may primarily be attributed to other causes.
Out of the 324 COVID deaths reported in the last week, only a minuscule 1.7% actually listed COVID-19 as the primary cause of death. The rate varied slightly across different regions, with New York reporting 2.1%, Tennessee and North Carolina at 2%, and Washington at 2.4%.
Florida and Maryland had the highest rates, with COVID-19 listed as the primary cause of death in 3.4% of reported cases.
This eye-opening data comes at a time when COVID cases are experiencing an uptick nationwide. In response, Morris-Brown College in Atlanta has decided to reinstitute mask mandates and other mitigation measures, despite having no positive cases on campus at the time.
Lionsgate Films studio in California has also implemented similar measures after a few positive cases were reported. Employees are now required to monitor their symptoms, undergo temperature checks, and adhere to face mask requirements while in the building.
As the country prepares for colder weather and a potential surge in new cases, President Joe Biden has announced plans to secure funding for a new COVID vaccine. Biden emphasized the importance of this vaccine, stating that it will likely be recommended for everyone, regardless of prior vaccination status.
