Eagle Pass Dispatch: Biden Officials Shun Law Enforcement, Discourage Others Too

Inept Homeland Security Secretary Blames Others for Border Crisis

In a recent appearance on NBC ⁢News’ “Meet the Press,” Alejandro Mayorkas,‍ the embattled U.S. Homeland Security Secretary, demonstrated his lack of integrity and ⁢self-awareness by shifting blame for the Biden administration’s disastrous ⁣handling of the southern border crisis.

When asked about his responsibility for the nightmare situation, Mayorkas essentially said, don’t hold us accountable.

“It certainly is ‌a crisis and we don’t bear responsibility for a‌ broken system, and ⁢we’re dealing a tremendous amount within⁤ that broken system,” he told moderator Kristen ⁤Welker.

Perhaps Mayorkas should take the time to speak with the people ⁢living ⁣in border towns, local⁣ law enforcement, and his own U.S. Border Patrol agents to understand the true impact of his department’s failures.

Ira‌ Mehlman and the team from the⁢ Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) recently did just that. They visited the border towns and spoke with the residents and officials who are directly affected by the crisis.

“Ask the‌ people at ⁤the border in Texas. They think the blame ‍belongs squarely‍ with [the Biden administration],” the FAIR media director shared during an interview on‌ “Need to Know With Jeff Angelo” on NewsRadio 1040 in Des Moines.

During their visit to Eagle Pass, a Texas border city, Mehlman and his team ⁤witnessed the illegal immigration‌ crisis firsthand. The city, with its relatively gentle Rio Grande currents,⁤ has become a focal point for migrants seeking easy entry into the United ‌States. The overwhelming ‌influx of migrants has strained Border Patrol agents and local resources.

The population of Eagle Pass⁢ has skyrocketed due to the ⁤influx of illegal aliens⁢ encouraged by President Joe⁢ Biden and his ineffective Homeland Security chief. In fact, December 2023 saw a record-breaking number of over 300,000 migrant apprehensions ‍at the Southwest border. The Del Rio‍ sector alone recorded over ⁣ 152,252 encounters in ⁤the first three months of the fiscal year.

Eagle⁢ Pass has become the epicenter of a standoff between Texas and the ‍Biden administration,‍ highlighting the chaos of the administration’s immigration⁢ policy. Governor⁢ Greg Abbott, supported by several states,⁣ has deployed National Guard troops and erected razor wire to ⁤protect the state⁤ from the invasion. Despite a divided Supreme Court order, Abbott remains steadfast in his commitment to defend his state ‍and the‌ nation from this⁢ invasion.

“The ‍message from the Biden⁣ administration is: Not only⁤ don’t we want to enforce immigration laws, we don’t want anyone else to do it,” Mehlman stated.

Mehlman, who witnessed the impact of Abbott’s Operation Lone Star during his visit, believes that the strategy‌ of deterrence is effective. However, he acknowledges that migrants are now rerouting to Arizona and California, states with governors who support Biden’s open border policies.

Mayorkas conveniently shifts blame to Congress, claiming they are the only ones who⁢ can fix the border crisis.‌ He conveniently ignores the fact that President Biden has⁣ reversed numerous‍ Trump-era policies and has the power to take action to address the illegal immigration flood. The Senate’s failed border deal would have only worsened the crisis, according to critics like Mehlman. They argue that Senate ⁢Minority Leader Mitch McConnell ⁢and Senator James Lankford‍ “sold ⁤out” ‍the House’s version of the bill, leaving lawmakers serious about border⁢ security in a lose-lose situation.

Meanwhile, House Republicans are regrouping after their failed attempt⁢ to impeach Mayorkas. Speaker Mike Johnson believes they will have the numbers this time, with ‍Majority Leader Steve Scalise back in action after undergoing cancer treatment during the previous vote.

Mehlman firmly believes that Mayorkas deserves to be impeached for his failure to uphold immigration laws and his dereliction of duty as Homeland‍ Security Secretary.
