Did the White House alter transcript to downplay Biden’s racism?
You have to pity the White House staffers in charge of making President Joe Biden look capable of doing his job.
It must be a full-time job trying to keep him upright and attempting to cover up his gaffes.
On Thursday, Biden was giving a speech at a community college in Maryland when he made the following statement: “We’ve seen record lows in unemployment, particularly — and I’ve focused on this my whole career — particularly for African-Americans and Hispanic workers and veterans — you know, the workers without high school diplomas.”
But that’s not what he said according to the transcript of the speech provided by the White House.
According to the White House, he said, “African-Americans and Hispanic workers and veterans, you know, and the workers without high school diplomas.”
Listen to the moment below and see if you can make out that “and.”

Can’t hear it? Neither could many social media users.
He said “the” not “and”.

I don’t hear an “and” in there anywhere.

So was the White House trying to cover up another example of Biden’s “inherent racism,” the kind Democrats accuse all white people of?
After all, wasn’t he the one who described Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy”?
Then there was the time he insulted Indian-Americans by saying, “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.”
And who could forget his “poor kids are just as bright as white kids” gaffe?
In this case, to be as charitable as possible, maybe Biden meant to say “and” but simply didn’t get it out. These days he’s not exactly known for his elocution, after all.
Or maybe he blurted out exactly what he meant — that African-Americans, Hispanics and veterans don’t have high school diplomas.
Given his extensive history of comments that would make a DEI consultant cringe, the latter seems more likely.
Whatever the case, did the White House intentionally try to make Biden sound less racist by sneaking a tiny little “and” into the transcript?
I don’t think anyone has any question about that.

What other instances of the White House trying to clean up after Biden’s mistakes have been observed?
Se trying to cover up Biden’s gaffe? It certainly seems that way. The fact that they altered the transcript to include the word “and” suggests that they were trying to make Biden’s statement sound more coherent and less confusing. But in doing so, they only further highlighted the President’s inability to articulate his thoughts clearly.
This is not the first time that the White House has been caught trying to clean up after Biden’s mistakes. Earlier this year, they edited a video of Biden to remove an embarrassing stumble he made while speaking. And just last month, they deleted a tweet from the official White House account because it contained a factual error.
It’s understandable that the White House would want to present the President in the best possible light. After all, it’s their job to make him look good and capable of leading the country. But by constantly trying to cover up his gaffes and mistakes, they are only undermining their own credibility.
The American people deserve transparency and honesty from their leaders. They deserve to hear the unfiltered truth, even if it means admitting that the President is not always perfect. By trying to control the narrative and present a polished version of events, the White House is failing in its duty to the American people.
It’s important to hold our leaders accountable and demand transparency. We should not settle for a carefully crafted image that hides the truth. The American people deserve leaders who are open, honest, and capable of doing their job without constant assistance.
In conclusion, it is unfortunate that the White House staffers are tasked with the difficult job of making President Joe Biden appear capable of doing his job. While it is understandable that they want to present him in the best possible light, constantly covering up his gaffes and mistakes only undermines their own credibility and fails to provide the transparency and honesty that the American people deserve.
