DeSantis clashes with reporter over Trump’s 2020 loss.
Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis engaged in a fiery exchange with a reporter during a recent interview. The reporter, Dasha Burns from NBC News, asked DeSantis a direct question: “Did Donald Trump lose the 2020 election?”
DeSantis responded with a clever remark, saying, ”Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on January 20th every four years is the winner.” However, Burns pressed him further, pointing out that he didn’t provide a clear answer. DeSantis then admitted, “No, of course he lost. Joe Biden is the president.”
DeSantis went on to express his concerns about the election, stating that it wasn’t a well-run process and that Republicans didn’t fight back effectively. He criticized the funding of mail-in ballots and emphasized the need for a stronger response.
NBC News plans to air portions of the interview throughout the day, allowing viewers to witness the intense exchange firsthand.

During an event in Iowa last week, DeSantis was questioned by reporters about his stance on the 2020 presidential election. He acknowledged that the election wasn’t conducted in the ideal manner but dismissed unsubstantiated claims of widespread fraud. DeSantis emphasized the importance of moving forward and focusing on the future of the country.
Interestingly, DeSantis also hinted at the possibility of pardoning Trump if he becomes president. He expressed his belief that it wouldn’t be in the best interest of the country to see an elderly former president behind bars. Drawing a parallel to Ford’s pardon of Nixon, DeSantis emphasized the need to shift the focus to the future and leave the events of January 6, 2021, behind.
