DeSantis sends more personnel to border, criticizes Biden for supporting invasion
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Sends More Personnel to Texas to Combat Border Crisis
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made an exciting announcement on Friday, revealing that he is dispatching additional personnel to Texas to assist in the fight against the border crisis caused by President Joe Biden.
During a press conference, Governor DeSantis stated that 76 Florida Highway Patrol officers and 50 National Guardsmen would be immediately deployed to the southern border. This move comes after the governor has already sent hundreds of troops to the border over the past few years.
“This is part of a years-long effort for us to help do what the federal government has refused to do, which is to actually defend this country’s borders,” he emphasized. “You’ve seen numbers that have been astronomical over these last three years. I know that what’s been happening in Texas has been effective. You’ve seen the numbers go down, and that’s really because you have Texas putting forth huge effort, and then all these other states coming by to help. So, we want to be a part of that. We think this is an American issue, partially just because we should have a secure country. And then partially the effects of this border invasion go to all 50 states.”
Governor DeSantis also drew attention to the concerning presence of Chinese nationals and military-aged males from hostile countries in the Middle East and North Africa at the southern border. He expressed his belief that some of these individuals may have malicious intentions, posing a significant threat to national security.

Furthermore, Governor DeSantis expressed his unfortunate belief that a terrorist attack on U.S. soil will eventually be linked back to President Biden’s open border policy.
DeSantis Criticizes Biden Administration’s Funding of NGO Groups
DeSantis did not hold back in his criticism of the Biden administration for funding NGO groups that exacerbate the illegal immigration crisis.
“The federal government is funding that, a hundred percent they are, and it’s wrong,” he asserted. “Our grand jury that we did, for the immigration, which we did in Northwest Florida, one of their reports talked about the role that these NGOs do. These NGOs make a fortune because of illegal immigration. They bring people in, the federal government gives them money. What we did in Florida is we took action regarding their ability to interact with the state. The problem is they have this money coming from the feds. But I think you look at it, it’s not just like, ‘Oh, someone shows up and these [NGOs] are offering charity.’ They are intricately involved in orchestrating movements of people from foreign countries into this country illegally. That’s what those NGOs are doing. And I think they should be held accountable for that.”
He continued, emphasizing that the federal government should not use taxpayers’ money to fund these NGOs, as it essentially subsidizes the border invasion. Governor DeSantis expressed his intention to hold these groups accountable and potentially introduce legislative measures to combat their negative influence on illegal immigration.

How does Governor DeSantis argue that the administration’s support and funding of these NGOs encourages further illegal immigration and puts additional strain on border patrol and immigration officials?
Inistration’s handling of the border crisis. He specifically called out the administration’s support and funding of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that aid illegal immigrants. Governor DeSantis argued that this policy only encourages further illegal immigration and puts additional strain on the already overwhelmed border patrol and immigration officials.
“The Biden administration is spending taxpayer dollars on these NGOs to basically facilitate the coming of more illegal aliens. That is nuts,” DeSantis stated firmly. “You want to govern and you want to put Americans first and secure the border? Why would you want to fund NGOs encouraging people to break our laws and then be funded by the taxpayers of the United States? That is insane.”
DeSantis made it clear that his priority is to protect the safety and security of Floridians and all Americans. He reiterated that the border crisis is not just a problem for states like Texas and Arizona, but rather an issue that affects the entire nation.
“We’ve got to enforce our laws. We’ve got to secure our border. And that’s why we’re happy to be sending the Florida Highway Patrol and National Guard down to Texas to assist with this, because we think that Florida should not be bearing all the costs for what really is a countrywide crisis,” DeSantis emphasized.
Florida’s Support for Texas and Efforts to Secure the Border
Florida has been a strong supporter of Texas in the fight against the border crisis. Governor DeSantis recognizes the efforts made by Texas and sees their success in reducing border crossings as a model to follow. By sending additional personnel to assist at the southern border, Florida aims to contribute to the reduction of illegal immigration and protect the nation’s borders.
This is not the first time Governor DeSantis has taken action to combat the border crisis. In 2019, he signed a bill which banned sanctuary cities in Florida, further establishing the state’s stance on illegal immigration. The dispatch of resources to Texas is an extension of Florida’s commitment to securing the border and upholding the rule of law.
Governor DeSantis also called on other states to join the fight and support Texas in securing the border. He encouraged governors and leaders from across the country to recognize the magnitude of the issue and take necessary actions to combat it.
Conclusion
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s decision to send more personnel to assist Texas in combating the border crisis is a strong statement of his commitment to protecting the safety and security of Americans. He believes that securing the border is crucial not only to the state of Florida but to the entire nation. Governor DeSantis also criticized the Biden administration’s policies that enable illegal immigration and called for the funding of NGOs aiding illegal immigrants to stop.
As the border crisis continues to escalate, it is important for states to come together and take unified action to address the issue. Governor DeSantis’s efforts demonstrate the importance of cooperation and the commitment to safeguarding the country’s borders.
