Governor Ron DeSantis and presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy have announced that both of their campaigns have experienced a fundraising surge after the Wednesday GOP debate.
On Thursday, DeSantis’ (R-Fla.) campaign manager James Uthmeier spoke to the press about how they reportedly had over $1 million that was donated in just a day after the debate.
“Ron DeSantis showed Wednesday night that he is a proven leader who will deliver results as president, and we are thrilled with the flood of support we have received since his debate victory,” Uthmeier said. “We look forward to building on this momentum in the weeks and months ahead as the governor continues to outwork everyone in this race as he lays out his vision to reverse our nation’s decline and revive the American Dream.”
Ramasway also reportedly saw a big surge of donations after the debate.
According to the press, his campaign had $460,000 on debate night and $600,000 the next day, bringing his total to $1 million in 24 hours as well.
Due to the refusal of signing the loyalty pledge, 45th President Donald Trump did not participate in the GOP debate.
The campaigns of former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and Governor Doug Burgum (R-N.D.) have not released any information about their fundraising numbers after the debate.
According to results of polls conducted by FiveThirtyEight and Ipsos, it was reportedly found that 29% of respondents thought DeSantis won the debate, while 26% viewed Ramaswamy as the winner. This was followed by Haley with 15%, Pence came in fourth with 7% support, followed by Scott and Christie, who tied at 4%.
