Explosion Rocks Denver House, Sending One to Hospital
DENVER—A powerful explosion caused a multifamily house in Denver to partially collapse, leaving one person injured and the neighborhood in shock.
Natural gas is believed to be the cause of the blast, according to the Denver Fire Department. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to determine the exact circumstances.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening, and although it didn’t start a fire, the force of the explosion turned the building’s lawn and a section of the structure into a chaotic pile of rubble, as captured in dramatic photos released by the fire department.

“The force of the explosion was so intense that it blew up and out, leaving us with nothing but a pile of rubble and debris that miraculously didn’t catch fire,” explained fire department spokesman John Chism.
Amidst the chaos, one man managed to escape by crawling down the stairs and maneuvering over the rubble. Fortunately, others also avoided serious injuries.
However, the residents of the affected house and neighboring apartments have been displaced. The exact number of people affected is unknown, but the Red Cross is actively working to find them temporary housing.
Tragically, a beloved pet dog lost its life in the blast.
