Dems Won’t Condemn Comey’s Incitement Of Anti-Trump Violence

The article discusses the reaction of Democratic leaders to a social media post made by former FBI Director James Comey, which is perceived to suggest violence against President Trump. Comey’s post featured seashells arranged in a formation interpreted as “86 47,” with the numbers understood as a call to “get rid of” or “assassinate” Trump, the 47th president. critics argue that Comey, being a former top law enforcement official, should have been aware of the implications behind his post but later claimed ignorance. The piece highlights the lack of condemnation from prominent Democrats and questions the inconsistency in their typical responses to threats against political figures. It suggests that the absence of outrage signifies a troubling tolerance for incendiary rhetoric in political discourse. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for accountability and raising concerns about the potential impact of such messages on unstable individuals.

Democrats are not moved by former FBI Director James Comey’s beachcombing, social media post apparently calling for the assassination of President Trump. Try finding a Democrat condemning it.

In fact, The Federalist specifically asked Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, House Minority Whip Rep. Katherine Clark, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar if they planned to condemn Comey’s post. No response.

Comey’s post was a photo of seashells in the sand set in the formation of numbers “86 47” captioned, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”

Of course, 47 is a nickname for President Donald Trump, the 47th president. There is a long tradition of referring to presidents by their number.

And as any beat cop knows, 86 is slang for “get rid of” or “assassinate.” They know, because law enforcement makes it a point to understand threatening language.

That is why it is impossible to believe that Comey — once one of the highest law enforcement officers in the land, who was deeply involved with investigating the criminal underworld — was clueless about the meaning of 86, as he claimed in a follow-up post after his photo caused a stir.

“I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me, but I oppose violence of any kind, so I took the post down.”

OK, Boomer.

We are not even convinced that you didn’t make that sand art yourself, Mr. Comey. Don’t ask us to believe you were not sending an intentional message.

Where is the Democrat outrage? The left is usually hypersensitive to the smallest slights, and this is not small.

There have been two publicly known assassination attempts on President Trump’s life. One in which a bullet struck his head.

In April, the Department of Justice had Shawn Monper of Butler, Pennsylvania, arrested, accusing him of threatening to assault and murder Trump, other U.S. officials, and ICE agents. He said he had been buying a gun a month since Trump’s inauguration.

Tranard Dell, a Port Orange, Florida, man was imprisoned after allegedly threatening to kill Trump on X. He also reportedly threatened to kill a Secret Service officer when the officer contacted Dell about the threats on the president.

How are these social media threats different from what Comey did?

Chances are there are more nutjobs out there just waiting for a sign from someone like Comey. A man of Comey’s former position is well aware that there are unstable people who would respond to his not-so-innocent sea-shell messaging.

Comey knew exactly what he was doing, and so do the Democrats, all suddenly quiet as D.C. gutter rats.

If they can’t stop Trump with a fake Russian collusion, impeachments, threats of jail, sexual scandals, rioting in the street, the Covid pandemic, or an avalanche of legal challenges heard by hand-picked activist judges, they may think there is only one way to remove him for sure. Trump winning the election was an important battle. But we are still at war over the very soul of this country. That is why Comey’s post matters, and why he must be held accountable for it.

Democrats are fond of saying no one is above the law — except in this case.
