Dems choose Marxist educator for Colorado State House vacancy.
Marxist Teacher Chosen to Fill Open Seat in Colorado House of Representatives
Democrats in Colorado have made an interesting choice for an open seat in the state’s House of Representatives. Tim Hernández, a Marxist teacher who has called for a “FORCEFUL Cultural revolution,” was selected by a committee of Democrats to represent the Denver area. This decision comes after state Rep. Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez was elected to the Denver city council.
Hernández, who previously worked at Aurora West Preparatory Academy, openly advocated for Marxism and the dismantling of “White systems.” He passionately expressed his beliefs at a union protest, stating that the revolution would be led by the people, not just those who understand Lenin or Marxism deeply. As a teacher, he believes in the power of education to bring about change.

Hernández faced controversy during his time at Aurora West Preparatory Academy, leading to his contract not being renewed by Denver Public Schools. However, his dismissal sparked a student walkout demanding his reinstatement.
After being chosen to fill the open seat, Hernández expressed his gratitude and commitment to representing the struggles of Denver’s Northside and Westside communities. He aims to dismantle oppressive policies in Colorado and the communities he serves.
It is evident from Hernández’s social media presence that he regularly shares communist talking points and supports leftist causes such as Black Lives Matter and Palestine. He has been vocal about disrupting and challenging White supremacy, advocating for a “FORCEFUL cultural revolution.”
Furthermore, Hernández believes in exposing young children to Marxist thought, using the movie ”A Bug’s Life” as a teaching tool to introduce them to the concept of the “proletariat revolution.”
Despite the controversy surrounding his beliefs and teaching methods, Hernández sees himself as a testament to the work that still needs to be done. He considers his role as a teacher to be sacred, powerful, and necessary in imparting the truth to his students.
It is worth noting that both the Colorado House of Representatives and the state Senate are currently controlled by Democrats, with the party’s majority increasing in recent years.
