Unable to land a blow on President Donald Trump, Democrats instead have turned to attacking his right-hand man, Elon Musk, with a desperate cry to “Lock him up!”
As Musk wraps up three months of cutting waste with his Department of Government Efficiency team, more than seven in 10 Democrats are eager for a way to put him behind bars for helping the White House slash liberal spending boondoggles.
In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets on Thursday, 71% of Democrats said that they would “support a hypothetical law that would imprison Elon Musk for his role in DOGE.”
And 68% of Democrats, believing that Musk engaged in “unconstitutional activities” while working for Trump for free, would “support a hypothetical law that would ban Elon Musk from serving in government,” said the pollster.
The partisan results showed Republican support for the Tesla and SpaceX founder. Some 59% would not ban him from helping Trump, and 54% would not back his jailing.
The poll was funded by the Heartland Institute and tested support for Musk and his bid to identify and cut government waste, fraud, and abuse before his effort ends.
“The fact that a majority of Democratic voters would support imprisoning Elon Musk for trying to make government more efficient is a shocking indictment of the modern left, which has become increasingly more tyrannical in recent years,” said Justin Haskins, senior fellow at the Heartland Institute and the poll’s primary author. “We’ve reached a point where many Americans would rather unjustly punish innovation than fix the broken systems Musk was trying to reform.”

Musk’s efforts have taken a toll on his car business as liberals who once embraced his EV innovation have turned against him. Not only are sales and profits down, but Tesla owners have come under attack from unhinged liberals.
But through it all, he has kept a positive, even happy perspective on his role.
